I decided to actually do a little fandub project after being in LONG and extended hiatus from previous project (which failed... again!), I decided to start from something small. A cutscene from FFXIV: Shadowbringers between Alphinaud and Vauthry. And before you even ask; Yes, I have the script done already. I will include it here. Final Fantasy XIV is owned and developed by Square-Enix. I don't own anything appearing here. This is for entertainment purposes ONLY. Vauthry has a twisted sense of right and wrong: seeing his authority as divinely ordained and those who oppose him as villains. He lacks any form of empathy for others and is prone to throw temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way. Vauthry's outlook and god complex are the result of his father's upbringing: being convinced that he is a bridge man and Sin Eater while unable to do any wrong despite his amoral actions.
"Why? You ask me why? Because criminals must be punished, and this man is guilty of fraud."
(disappointedly)
”Oh you dim deluded child… Have you ever paused to consider what it takes to maintain such a paradise in this barren, broken world of ours?”
(demandingly) ”Who gave you permission to tend that criminal’s wounds!? I told you to paint me a picture!”
Alphinaud is a self-assured young man, calm and mature for his age. He shows more interest in intervening in the events of Eorzea than his sister, who prefers to watch history unfold from the shadow. Charismatic and diplomatic, he finds it easy to gain the Eorzean Alliance leaders' trust, partly thanks to his grandfather's credit. Alphinaud has a big ego, and often clashes with other nations' leaders about their ideals.
”’Tis true that Kai-Shirr won his place here by fraud. But his actions were driven only by a desire to share in your paradise.”
(angered, almost shouting at Vauthry)
”That you would cast him out I could almost accept, but to humiliate him thus? To demand his very life!? Is this truly the way of Eulmore!?”
(irritated and disgusted)”What you need is a mirror, not a painting. It will capture the horror i see before me far better than I ever could.”
There's not much info about Kai-Shirr other than he's one of the latest and newest addition on FFXIV characters, starting from the Shadowbringers patch. He's a strapping young man from Mystel race (Miqo'te in Eorzea) with short blue hair who in this cutscene doesn't have but one line, unless you want to add the random pained grunts and stuff that you can see in explainer video.
(thru pain, almost crying) ”Mercy… Mercy…”
