Project Overview

Hello! Thank you for clicking on this casting call. My name is James and I would like to interest you in partaking in a rather wordy project. 


Our end goal would be to create a complete audiobook for Project Horizons. But, as you will probably already know, this story is rather large so that is why we will have multiple narrators.


This could be very bad, yes, but I think this story requires some different tactics as all other examples of single narrator audiobooks have failed (minus Visualpony Thenarrator -congrats to him and his team!).


My ideal plan would be for a narrator to record four chapters at a time, allowing the listener to settle into the voice before it changes. On top of this, character voices will also be minimal so there won't be four versions of Blackjack and the audiobook becomes confusing.


Right now, I have three narrators and we have begun production; however, to fill the team I would like to have a fourth. There is also the possibility of having extra narrators to take the pressure off of the others but this may be a stretch as the many voices could be distracting.


To give some extra info, audio editing will be done by me but I won't stop anyone from doing something if they're good enough. If this is the case, all I ask is that you tell me what you did so I don't do it myself and be prepared to give me the raw audio if it's needed.


Anyway, best of luck in the auditions! I hope you want to be a part of this and I haven't bored you or something. We've got a lot of work to do but I think it will be very rewarding.

  • Auditions are closed and it's time to make a decision

    I'd like to thank everyone who sent in an audition. I was blown away by the quality and quantity of people giving it a go. However, only one person can become the 4th narrator and choosing just one has been very, very hard. I've asked a few people to try and narrow it down and, luckily, I've come to a decision. 


    You'll be able to see who I chose on the main page but I'd just like to say again: thank you!


    As I said in the description, having more narrators is a possibility so I might contact a few of you in the future but I can't promise anything; I hope the team will stay the same so people will get used to the voices and we won't have any changes in the cast.

  • “Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria…”

           War. War never changes. It had consumed our home, a war fought by foreign aggressors until great and terrible magics had been unleashed to burn all the world to ash and dust. Only our constant devotion to the Princesses had carried us through that terrible war, just as our unwavering faith in the Overmare maintained our continued survival within the earth. Trust in the Overmare; obey the Overmare.

  • The grating buzz of my alarm yanked me away from sleep. I stuck my left foreleg out from under the blankets, away from my head, felt around for the end table next to the bed, found it, and proceeded to whack my PipBuck against the tabletop until the right button was hit and the noise stopped. I groaned and smacked my lips, tasting the sour gunk in my mouth before rolling onto my back and huffing softly, “Good morning, Blackjack. Welcome to another thrilling day in Stable 99.” I half crawled, half rolled, half fell out of bed and gave myself a vigorous shake. Life in Stable 99 was routine, with any deviation punishable by the security mares. I had half an hour to wash, half an hour to eat, and an hour to report to my duty station. The same as it had been every day since I’d gotten my cutie mark.
