Fairy Tail: Next Generation - The Shopping Trip Special
Project Overview
The following project is basically a fully voiced reading of one of the special chapters from the Wattpad Fanfic Fairy Tail: Next Generation, which is a very nerdy sentence. This is a fan project, so, unfortunately, I can't pay you for your work.
I've been wanting to bring some voice to the story for a while, so I was hoping to get some voice actors on board to do multiple projects for the characters. That meaning that I'd hope that whoever lands the roles of the main characters of this project would stay on for other projects to provide consistency to the voice casting. However, I understand if you'd rather just do the one project because time, life, and all that other stuff that conflicts with what we do on the internet.
This project is a special chapter that takes place during the first volume and is separate from the main story, so it contains its own story. It's about Nashi Dragneel (daughter to Natsu and Lucy), going on a shopping trip to win back her only other female friend, Marigold Pollen, who has recently befriended her nemesis Sylvie Fullbuster (daughter of Gray and Juvia). It's fun, pretty lighthearted, lots of jokes and shouting. Good fun.
Along with our three main leads, there will be cameos from Liddan Dragneel (Nashi's younger brother), Gideon Fullbuster (Sylvie's twin brother), Jude Dragneel (Nashi other younger brother), and Lucy Heartfilia (now Dragneel). The rest of the roles will be exclusive to this project and wouldn't carry over to any other projects.
In case you're interested in seeing what the grounds for this story is, the original story is posted on wattpad here, it has four volumes because I'm just that extra. If you are cast for a role but haven't read the source material, it's okay, I can provide any context for your character if needed.

This part will have a lot of long lines and is, as the name suggests, narrating the action of the story. The narrator shouldn't carry too much emotion when telling the story, but tell it with urgency and importance.
I'm not looking for any gender in particular, just someone with a clear and engaging voice.
There was silence as Lucy took in what her daughter had just said. She froze, slowly turning to face her child as she felt something pierce through her chest, a kind of excitement bathed in fear.
Nashi wasn't the jealous type, she just couldn't stand Sylvie. Also, she was really jealous of her.
It made the trip seem a little less "Brokeback Mountain", but didn't change the fact that the only other male friend the boys had was a cat.
This is still the Lucy we all know and love from Fairy Tail, but now she's a mom, and she has four children, and she is very tired. Mostly, Lucy is a good mom, but she's also sometimes terrible at it. I'm looking for someone who can somewhat imitate Cherami Leigh's performance of Lucy, except now Lucy is really tired and stressed and just trying to be the best mom she can be.
(Context: Finds out Nashi is going shopping for clothes.)
(In shock, excitement) It's finally happening...This may be the most important thing that's ever happened to me!
(distracted) Not now Jude! Your sister needs me! Go play outside!
(Blunt) No, I know you can't, I'm your mother, I know your strengths, and you have a lot, baby. But I also know your weaknesses, and that's social situations, primarily between you and other women.
Nashi is boyish and at many points in this script, aggressive. Her voice shouldn't be too low, more in a medium or high range and filled with energy. Feel free to experiment and have fun with it.

I am not territorial. (sound of Liddan reaching for fries) Those are my fries, Liddan, mine.
(aggressive) This is nothing of that sort, Gideon! This isn't about territory, this is about friendship! Love! (begins to shout) AND SYLVIE TAKING MY STUFF!
(disgusted) Look at them, happy, feminine, I bet they've got their periods synchronized or something.
Marigold typically exudes positive energy from her voice, as she's taken the more maternal role in her friend group. That in mind, she can also take sharp turns into the "mama bear" type role (as you can see with the second line). Her voice should be more in the medium range, possessing a certain maturity but while still sounding young.

(uncomfortably happy) It would be so fun having my two favorite girls with me for the day, together, in public, so they can't cause a scene.
(intense, serious) Please do not look any of us in the eye for the rest of the time we're here.
(scolding) Sylvie! Put those pantyhose down, you don't need eight and you'll give yourself a yeast infection!
Despite Sylvie being wildly emotional, she tries to maintain a rather posh composure. Her vocal mannerisms are somewhat similar to her mother (though she never speaks in the third person) so her vocal range should be medium or lower. I'm looking for someone who can sound casual while speaking formally but easily break out of that tone in Sylvie's more emotional moments. For more info on her character check out her wiki page here.
(intense whisper) Careful, they can smell fear and they'll hunt down fresh meat for the kill. Stay on your heels, don't look lost.
(mocking, towards Nashi) She picked me up from my house. She's just a good friend like that.
(casual) I'm sure the clerk will remember you, since you did toss Marigold into the clearance pile.
Liddan (pronounced Lie-done), is one of the roles that would have more focus in later projects but plays a minor role in this story. He's Nashi's younger brother (by almost 2 years, so he's 17, nearly 18 at this time) and is very close friends with Marigold (though that isn't explored much in this story).
For his voice I'm looking for something that is medium to somewhat high range (not low or deep). Like Nashi, his voice should have some energy. I'm hoping to find a voice that performs naturally with the dialogue.

Whoa, okay, if anyone at this table is closest to Marigold, it would be me. (a beat, cocky) I'm her favorite Dragneel.
(excited) Perfect, nothing more masculine then two bros going into a small boat together and going into the water where no one can see or hear them for miles.
(defensive) How is sewing even unmasculine?! I mean, I'm taking a sharp object and repeatedly stabbing something--plus it's a very valuable and practical skill as a hobby or medical use in an emergency--
Gideon is the son of Gray and Juvia. Like his sister, he tries to maintain a certain exterior but the cracks in that persona are pretty obvious. In his case, he tries to seem cool and relaxed, but is actually boiling with anxiety. You can see a bit of that here, but it's not fully explored. For some context in the relationships, he's on good terms with the Dragneels, is close friends with Liddan, and has a crush on Nashi (which also isn't explored in this project but is present in the surrounding volume).
(casual) Nothing cements friendship like shopping, it's the perfect place to get to know someone. You learn about their tastes, style, and there are so many things you can bond over by complaining.
(a bit cocky, trying to sound casual) I mean, you and Sylvie do the same thing with me, always competing for my attention, my affection--I mean, I'm flattered, but a man can only take so much.
(defeated) Well, I dunno, (sighs) I just don't feel like much of a man. I mean, neither of us have a girlfriend, I can't manage the nine-minute-mile...you and your sewing thing--
Jude is a 9-year-old boy and (at this point in the story) the youngest Dragneel. He doesn't get along great with his siblings but is close to Marigold who has babysat him in the past. He can sound a little grumpy and irritated, but his character at this point falls into the tsundere type, as he's trying to seem tougher than he actually is. Like the other main roles, Jude may appear in other projects so I may ask you to reprise your role.
Since he's just a little boy, I honestly expect a woman to end up voicing him. His voice doesn't have to be too low but it should be clear that he is a boy (especially since this project is all audio, so you can't see how he looks).

(laidback) Look, not really bragging or anything, but I'm her favorite, she tells me a lot.
I told you, I'm not bragging, I don't even wanna be her favorite, I dunno, I think she's projecting this mom-thing on me, it's weird.
(defensive) Stop trying to make it creepy, I'm like, nine. She's like a weirdly enthusiastic aunt more than anything. You all are gross, I'm leaving.
Ernest is supposed to be annoying and unlikeable. He's basically your "milady", tip your fedora, DM you at 2 in the morning because he's lonely type of guy. His voice should be shrill, a bit nasal, very whiney. If you need any inspiration, think of an adult Urkel.
He's a character exclusive to this story, so I likely won't be asking any to reprise their role (not to say I won't ask you to be apart of other projects, just not to reprise this role).
(attempting to sound cool) Why hello there, ladies, what can I do you for?
(shrill wailing) Gyaaaah....I'm so sorry!!
(casual) So I drive people to madness out of my own boredom. (begins to sniff, as though about to cry) You see, I've been very lonely since my dog ran away--
Tiffany is a cheerful, sophisticated, employee at a high-end retail store. She's professional and has the kind of proper, friendly, yet still somehow condescending attitude you find from these kinds of stores. Think the scene in Pretty Woman with the store Julia Roberts tried to shop at before she got her makeover.
She only has a few lines, so it's a very minor role. Her delivery should be similar to what you'd hear in a commercial for women's health.
There is a part where Tiffany has to scream because Nashi's arm catches on fire in front of her, but that's as extreme as the role will get
(friendly, somewhat seductive) Welcome to Heart's Delight, would you like to sample Kruez Deep Dream?
(fake apologetic) I'm sorry miss, that brand isn't covered by our sale. All Heart Kreuz products are full price.
The manager is an older man. Should have a deeper voice, speak formally and professionally. During his scene, he is threatened by the leads so he will begin to lose his composure and become much more nervous and desperate-sounding.
(professional, clinical) Ma'am, I'm sorry, but your friend--
(nervous) No! That won't be necessary! I mean, she didn't even burn herself--why don't we offer you a gift card as an apology? 5,000 jewels!
