Rarity is a female unicorn pony and one of the main characters of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She is Sweetie Belle's older sister and the subject of Spike's long-term crush. Rarity works as both a fashion designer and a seamstress at her own shop in Ponyville, the Carousel Boutique.
“EMERALDS?! What was I thinking? Let me get you some rubies!”
“I simply cannot let such a crime against fabulosity go uncorrected.”
“Look upon me Equestria, for I am Rarity!”
Fluttershy is a female Pegasus pony and one of the main characters of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She lives in a small cottage near the Everfree Forest and takes care of animals, the most prominent of her charges being Angel the bunny. She represents the element of kindness.
“This is me being brave. I wanna be brave at home, locked in my closet, with my teddy bear.”
“Um, "Rainbow Dash" actually starts with an 'R'.”
“Now, now, he’s learned his lesson. Isn’t that right, my little patient?”
Applejack is a female Earth pony and one of the main characters of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She lives and works at Sweet Apple Acreswith her grandmother Granny Smith, her older brother Big McIntosh, her younger sister Apple Bloom, and her dog Winona. She represents the element of honesty.
“Somepony wanna tell me what the hay is going on?”
“[in a formal tone] My mane needs to be perfectly coiffed at all times.”
“Big Mac, you've got some 'splainin' to do! Turkey call?”
Pinkie Pie, full name Pinkamena Diane Pie, is a female Earth pony and one of the main characters of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She is an energetic and sociable baker at Sugarcube Corner, where she lives on the second floor with her toothless pet alligator Gummy, and she represents the element of laughter.
“Yeah! You'll be so amazing! You'd be there on stage, basking in the hooflights, the centre of attention! A shining star! With everypony staring at you; judging you, jealously noting how they could be way better than you!”
“Parties are no picnic!”
“Freeze, Cheese! I challenge you...TO A GOOF-OFF!!!”
Rainbow Dash is a female Pegasus pony and one of the main characters in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She maintains the weather and clears the skies in Ponyville. As a huge fan of the Wonderbolts, she becomes a reservist member of the elite flying group in Testing Testing 1, 2, 3 and a full member in Newbie Dash. In Sonic Rainboom, Rarity and Princess Celestia both declare that she is the best flier in all of Equestria. Rainbow Dash has a pet tortoise named Tank, whom she chooses out of Fluttershy's offered animals in the episode May the Best Pet Win! She represents the element of loyalty.
“Oh, I can't deny it! I love to win! But if I ever gotta choose between winning, and being loyal to my friends, I'm always gonna choose my friends. 'Cause as much as I love winning, I love them waaay more.”
“I, uh, tripped on a, uh, foam hoof, and landed on a ... [unintelligible mumbling] pokey stick coming out of the ground...”
“I know! There might be no more books!”
Starlight Glimmer is a female unicorn pony and recurring character,[5] initially an antagonist but later a protagonist,[6] in the series.
“Hi, I'm Starlight Glimmer! What's your name?”
“Trixie! You ruined my teacakes!”
“It was supposed to be teacakes, but... [sighs] it's a long story. Have a great time!”
Sunset Shimmer, is the main antagonist of My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, the tritagonist/neutral character of My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, the main protagonist in My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Friendship Games and the deuteragonist of My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree .
"Twilight Sparkle wants to be your Fall Formal Princess. But what does it say about our school if we give someone like this...such an important honor?"
"Sorry it had to be this way... princess!"
"Tick-tock, Twilight. We haven't got all night. The portal will be closing on its own in less than an hour. So, what's your answer?"
Princess Celestia, called Queen Celestia in. one. comic and early development, is an Alicorn pony, the former co-ruler of Equestria alongside her younger sister Princess Luna, and the adoptive aunt of Princess Cadance.
“Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student. I knew you could do it.”
“It has been a thousand years since I have seen you like this. Time to put our differences behind us. We were meant to rule together, little sister.”
“Will you accept my friendship?”
Princess Luna, known as Nightmare Moon or Night Mare Moon when transformed or under certain other circumstances, is an Alicorn pony, the younger sister of Princess Celestia, and the main antagonist of the season one premiere of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic as Nightmare Moon.
“I'm so sorry! I missed you so much, big sister.”
“It was thou who unleashed the powers of harmony upon us and took away our dark powers! “
“I am not certain that did what you meant for it to do, Twilight Sparkle.”
Princess Cadance is a recurring character in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. She is an alicorn pony who is first featured in the season two finale "A Canterlot Wedding - Part 1" alongside Shining Armor, her husband. Her debut episode gives her proper title as Princess Mi Amore Cadenza.
“Why does she have to ruin my special day?”
“Of course I do. How could I forget the filly I love to sit for the most?”
“Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs awake. Clap your hooves...”
Discord is a male draconequus and former antagonist introduced in the season two premiere. Princess Celestia explains that Discord is the spirit of chaos and disharmony who once ruled over Equestria in a state of unrest and unhappiness, until she and Princess Luna used the Elements of Harmony to imprison him in stone. However, after the sisters lost their connection to the Elements, the spell was broken and Discord broke free. Later in the series, Princess Celestia decides that Discord should be reformed so his magic can be used for good.
“Make sense? Oh, what fun is there in making sense?”
“Who cares? I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. I'm Discord, the master of chaos! You think you can boss Discord around? You think I'm just going to turn all this back because you say so? Because if I don't, I'll lose the one friend I ever had? Oh. Oh… well played, Fluttershy… well played.”
“If Twilight has magic to give, it will be yours. Soon there won't be a pegasus, earth pony, or unicorn who will be able to stand up against us!”
King Sombra is one of the main antagonists of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. He is a tyrannical unicorn and the former ruler of the Crystal Empire who is bent on reconquering the empire and later taking over all of Equestria.
“AHH... LONG LIVE THE KING.”
Queen Chrysalis is a female changeling and the main antagonist of the season two finale, the season six finale, the IDW comics' first story arc, Budge Studios' mobile game Harmony Quest, and one of the main antagonists of the season ninefinale. She is the queen of the changelings and a shapeshifter who appears as Princess Cadance in order to hypnotize her fiancé Shining Armor, invade Canterlot, and eventually take over Equestria.
“There is no revenge you could ever conceive of that will come close to what I will exact upon you one day, Starlight Glimmer!”
“Right you are, Princess. And as Queen of the Changelings, it is up to me to find food for my subjects. Equestria has more love than any place I've ever encountered. My fellow changelings will be able to devour so much of it that we will gain more power than we have ever dreamed of!”
Cozy Glow is a female school-age Pegasus ponywho first appears as a supporting character in the season eight episode Marks for Effort, later becoming the main antagonist of the finale SchoolRaze and one of the main antagonists of the season nine finale The Ending of the End. She has a salmon-pink coat, curly light blue mane and tail, scarlet eyes, and a cutie mark of a rook.
“I'm Cozy Glow. It's very nice to meet you, but I don't know if I'll stay long. I'll probably flunk out. I'm having so much trouble with my friendship lessons.”
“You know, you ponies got it all wrong. Friendship isn't "magic". Friendship is power! With Twilight and her lackeys out of my way, all of Equestria will bow to me: The future… Empress of Friendship!”
Lord Tirek is a male centaur, the older brother of Scorpan, the main antagonist of the season fourfinale, and one of the main antagonists of the season nine finale. He is a villain who escapes from Tartarus, steals magic, and seeks to rule over Equestria.
“You're right, dear father. One day, I will overpower you. I will take this land for myself. And once that is done, it is I who will journey to Equestria and do what the elder could not. One day… I will be an indomitable force!”
“How does it feel, knowing that soon every Pegasus, Unicorn, and Earth pony will bow to my will and that there is nothing you can do to stop it?!”
Grogar is a male ram first alluded to in the season seven episode A Flurry of Emotions. He is a magically powerful tyrant who ruled and terrorized Equestria in ancient times. In the ninth and final season, Discord disguises himself as Grogar and forms an alliance of villains in a misguided effort to prepare Twilight Sparkle as Equestria's new ruler.
"I gave life to the foulest of creatures and allowed them to run wild, taking what they wanted and destroying the rest. My reign was a glorious, fear-soaked epoch of darkness in Equestria."
Trixie Lulamoon (simply known as Trixie) is a former-antagonist-turned-supporting-protagonist in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Princess Twilight) in My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship.
“Well, well, well, it seems we have some neigh-sayers in the audience! Who is so ignorant as to challenge the magical ability of The Great and Powerful Trixie?! Do they not know that they're in the presence of the most magical unicorn in all of Equestria?”
Apple Bloom is one of the secondary characters in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. She is Applejack's younger sister.
“Sorry, Applejack, but I'm the big sister now!”
“I really don't see how that's supposed to make me feel better. It probably means that being last one in your class to get a cutie mark runs in the family. Runs in the family... Runs in the family! Runs in the family!!”
Scootaloo is a one of the secondary characters in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She is a school-age Pegasus pony and one of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Her initial appearance is in Friendship is Magic, part 1 as a cameo; Scootaloo's first official appearance as a primary character is in Call of the Cutie.
“So... what's special about Ponyville? It's... It's... I got it! It's a place where different kinds of ponies live together as friends!”
“But we're winners! And we have hearts..”
Sweetie Belle is one of the secondary characters of My Little Pony: Generation 3, and one of the secondary characters in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. She is Rarity's younger sister and is a member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders along with her friends Apple Bloom and Scootaloo.
“She could be a great scientist, or an amazing artist, or a famous writer, she could even be mayor of Ponyville some day...”
“No, it means she's full of potential.”
