Emblem Hall (a Sonic-based Visual Novel)
Project Overview
Your name is Rose (unless you type something else), and it's your first year of college. To your relief, you're one of the only six people in your building that doesn't have any roommates...until the morning of September 1, that is.
You recently downloaded a copy of Sonic Adventure DX despite already owning it at home, and a freak accident has caused Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big, and E-102 Gamma to appear in your dorm room. Now, there's NO way you're cramming seven people in one room. Not after that one time.
So you set out to find places for five of the characters to stay while you figure this out. And the only other people who don't already have roommates are the five guys who occupy the other singles. With the help of your friend Teodora, you eventually convince them all to watch over Sonic and pals.
But as a result, you find yourself intertwined in your hallmates' stories...

Note that this project is still in development, and details are subject to change. There is the possibility that if you choose to audition, you'll want to audition again after the first chapter is released. The primary purpose of this casting call is to see if there's interest in a project like this.
If there is, upcoming roles include a villain character! Following visual novel tradition, Rose, being the protagonist, doesn't get a canon voice.

Sonic is a superfast hedgehog with an attitude. When the freak accident happened, he was already getting bored of his repetitive life as a video game character, so the college campus is a welcome change. He's not a big fan of the "no running in the halls" rule, though.
Any good places to run around here?
Tails, nicknamed for his aerodynamic is both the physically youngest member of the video game crew and the smartest. He and his roommate Tyrone are hard at work finding a way to create another portal and send himself, and his friends, home.
And the combination of the power surge and the superconductive properties of the Master Emerald created a portal that transported us all here!
Big is very easygoing and gets along well with his roommate Leo. But fishing in the campus pond just isn't the same with his best friend Froggy back in the game...
Froggy? Where are you?
With a plan to major in robotics and a high GPA, Tyrone wasn't worried about getting into college at all. It's actually quite convenient that he's staying with Tails, because both of them are skilled enough in mechanics to find out what went wrong the night of August 31. Eventually.
In the meantime, his high school friend Sam has been pushing him to expand his social circle, which is much easier said than done. While he's open with people he knows, Tyrone has no idea what to say to strangers.
And with classes proving harder than he expected, he doesn't have that much time.
Tails and I are working on a solution to your problem! We haven't gotten that far, though.
Sam is staying with Sonic, and he's fast at everything EXCEPT for running. He's fast-talking, fast-eating, quick-thinking, and he's always the first to finish tests. But running? He never had the patience to train.
The son of a football player, Sam's popularity has always come naturally. Even Rose, who couldn't care less about football, developed a huge infatuation with him that started when she was eight and lasted for several years. He was just so brave, so confident, so...cool. He still is, in fact, but she's over him.
Unless your decisions say otherwise.

The stoic, silent Ken isn't much for social interaction. The only time he comes out of his dorm room-- jokingly named "the Island" by his floormates-- is when an issue directly concerns him. For example, he leaves to go to class and when he suspects an item of his has been stolen.
Independent to a fault, Ken is a strange combination of mistrusting and gullible; that is, he'll believe anyone who tells him of a plan to do him wrong. No matter how unlikely it is, if someone says you're going to break into his room, he'll be after you.
So tensions rise when Knuckles moves in, Master Emerald in hand.
Look, I specifically requested to live alone. I don't trust a roommate to respect my boundaries.
Leo may be the most laid back person in the residence hall. He's unfazed by things that worry most students, like being late to class, and the news that Big the Cat is real and needs to stay with him doesn't even surprise him.
A member of the fishing club who only attends about a third of the meetings, Leo's lax attitude toward life has made him a pretty happy guy. Others, however, aren't as accepting of his ways.
Especially since he still hasn't returned the stuffed mascot of the Save the Rainforest club.
It's okay. If you hadn't knocked, I woulda been late to class...again.
Gavin raises a lot of questions. He seems to be in the Gamma Beta fraternity, but...isn't he just a freshman? He shouldn't have gotten the chance to join yet. And even if he is in that frat, why does he live in a dorm room? And why is he involved in so many clubs' business despite not being a member of any of them? Why does he demand stuff from people when he doesn't even know what it's supposed to be used for?
Is he really such a bad guy? Or is he just...misguided? He was eventually willing to take E-102 Gamma in, after all.
Will Rose discover the truth about him?
It's for important Gamma business. That's all I know.
Teodora, sometimes called Dora for short, is a determined young woman who wants to rid the world of injustice. She spends much of her free time studying social issues and passionately discussing them with anyone willing to listen, but that's not all.
She's also a big fan of Sonic games, so naturally, she and Rose made friends right away. And it's good that Rose has someone to talk to after the character incident, especially someone as patient and helpful as Teodora.
You know, she kind of reminds Rose of Tikal...
Of course I'll help! I'd look after them myself, but Eris doesn't take kindly to strangers.
One person CAN'T have this much power! It's too dangerous!
Since the Master Emerald came out of the game with the characters, the strong and serious Knuckles is able to continue guarding it. But Ken's room on the fifth floor is no substitute for the Floating Island, the echidna claims, not while he has to share it.
My duty is to protect the Master Emerald, and I can't do that if someone else has access to it.
Amy's outgoing nature brings a lot of energy to Rose's room, which is normally fine. But when the young hedgehog starts talking about her idol Sonic, it's a bit too big a reminder of the way Rose used to be of a certain boy in her childhood...
How about I stay with Sonic, and you keep your own room?
Gamma perhaps differs the most from his in-game self; his purpose is not to serve Eggman, but to provide players a means to play the game. Still, he knows the story programmed for him quite well, and it's eerily similar to what's going on with his roommate Gavin.
