Ekaterina (Animated Musical)

Catherine is the lead of this musical. She became Empress of Russia, overthrowing her husband and his terrible choices. She is our big star.

I imagine her having a middle- to low-range calm voice. Preferably has a German accent.

Princess Sophia is young Catherine. She dreams of getting away from her mother and being able to rule. 

I imagine her sounding similar to Coraline.

Preferably has a German accent.

Empress Elizabeth is Peter Ulrich’s aunt. She is the reason Sophie and Peter were married.

I don’t have a specific voice for her, simply a mid to high range, calm voice will do.

Preferably has a Russian accent.

Joanna is Sophie’s vindictive mother. She hated Sophie until her son died and she realized Sophie could be her only rise to power. Joanna used to be queen but lost it all in marrying her husband, and her rich and glamorous life was gone. The only reason she is with Sophie is to get back on the throne.

I imagine she sounds like a mix between Kristen Bell and Ursula. Kristen Bell but deeper. Kristen Bell the octopus. Whatever you want to say.

Preferably has a German accent.

Peter is Sophie’s betrothed and he hates it. He hates Russia and wishes he hadn’t had to leave Sweden, where he was Duke of Holstheim. He makes it clear that he doesn’t love Sophie and he’s only marrying her because his aunt is forcing him to.

I imagine he sounds similar to Ronald from the youtube channel Sis Vs Bro. has a German accent.

Potemkin was Catherine’s agent and helped her during her rise to power. They were lovers and may have been married secretly. Potemkin was a very clever man, as well as bold, confident, and captivating. He was always insecure about how much power Catherine had and was jealous of her former lovers, which eventually led to their relationship ending. He was supreme commander in the second Turkish-Ottoman war and helped build South Russia.

I imagine he sounds like if Hans from Frozen were Russian. 

Frederick the Great helped Russia in order to keep Prussia alive.

I imagine him sounding like an average grandpa.

Preferably has a German accent

Peter Ulrich is Catherine’s husband. He hates Russia and everything about it. He is soon overthrown by Catherine.

I imagine him having a high voice for a teenager. Preferably has a German accent.

Russian peasants.

Russian slaves.

Singing ensemble. 

Has a gruff cockney accent.

The Courier is a minor character that appears often, so I want whoever is cast to not have an accent if female or to maybe have a transatlantic accent if male. The Courier needs an average voice. There will be only one courier for every country, so the role needs to be generic.

Pugachev was the leader of many rebellions including a larger rebellion against Russia by the serfs. 

I imagine him having a mid to low range voice. 

This character can also be female.
