Thank you to everyone for your time and your auditions, it was tough choosing just one actor for each role and I appreciate your contributions!
Eavesdropper is a short and snappy radio drama being worked on by Media Production students at Bournemouth University in England.
It is the story of an FBI agent listening to three restaurant-going New York mafia members through a wire. They speak in code as to not give themselves away, but when a paranoid henchman bursts onto the scene, anything could happen.
The benefits of this production include:
What we require from you:
Due to being based in England (sorry) there is a 4-6 hour time difference if you are based in the US, so do understand if I do not respond to anything sent late evening, as I may be asleep and will get back to you the next morning.
The project does not include any graphic content, although one role, Emilio, does say mild expletives.
A previous, much longer project of mine acted by media students is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07MwRkQQOgU
If you have any further questions, send me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your auditions! I'm extending the deadline for a few days so that the director and I have some time to listen through the auditions and pick our favourites.
This new deadline will be later than the actual closing date so if you're on the fence about applying, now's the time.
- Sam
FBI agent listening to the wiretaps. He is feeling both extreme boredom and frustration at the lack of progress in the case. The majority of his lines are frustrated outbursts to himself.
His name is inspired by Dale from Twin Peaks but this is an entirely superficial detail, feel free to take the accent any way you like as long as you feel like it fits an FBI agent.
This is Agent McLachlan, we got it! A link- they're dead to rights!
(To himself) I don't feel like I'm thriving, I feel like a goddamn codebreaker.
(To himself after one of the wires is discovered and destroyed) Goddamnit!
Textbook mafia boss à la Tony Soprano. Quick to anger, and doesn't suffer fools lightly.
Christ Whispy, we're discussin' your dog 'ere. Get your head out ya bowl an' back into the conversation, eh?
Who'ssat? Tell me that ain't Scraps, an' tell me he ain't holdin' a fuckin' wire.
(With food in mouth) So what? Y'think the kids are gonna throw their toys out the pram over a good dog gone bad?
Whispers is Emilio's partner in crime, although he takes a much more thoughtful approach to each situation and measures his words much more carefully. He speaks slowly but with presence.
He speaks in a gruff, breathy voice like it's been damaged by smoking.
It ain't the kids I'm worried about, it's the prying neighbours. Hear me now, Emilio, they thrive off the arguments in our house.
Why hello, Danny, fancy seeing you here.
(Under breath, insistent) Maybe you should take a seat, Danny, you're making a scene.
Danny Scraps works under Emilio and Whispers, and has found that, just like the restaurant they are talking in, his house is full of wires. This has driven him to extreme and justified paranoia. He has thrown social norms and respect to his bosses to the wind, and is desperate to make them understand the gravity of the situation. All accents considered.
(Speaking about the wires he found) They're dead. I boiled em, but they ain't the last. They're everywhere! Everywhere I'm telling ya.
A scene? That's what you're worried about?
They're everywhere when you know where to look! Wanna see?
