is one of the owners ofRussia Sushi. He is known as one of the strongest men inIkebukuro; according toIzaya Orihara, if it was just a fist fight, Simon would be the strongest.

"Even on 50% off days, we do not serve humans in our dishes!"

is a minor character who is in class 1-B at Raira Academy with Masaomi Kida. She discovers her father cheating on her mother and starts having thoughts about suicide.

s a member of the Dollars and a former member of the Blue Squares.
Kyohei leads a small gang comprised of himself, Walker Yumasaki, Erika Karisawa, and Saburo Togusa. The four of them are almost always seen together and are fairly well known around the Dollars. His nickname is Dotachin, which he despises.
"I keep telling you not to call me that!"
"Who are we...? Don't tell me you've never heard of us before. We're Dollars."
is a member of the Dollars. He is the driver for Kyohei's Gang and is always seen with his close companions Kyohei Kadota, Walker Yumasaki, and Erika Karisawa. He is extremely protective of his van, often getting outraged at any sign of damage to it. He is also a huge fan of Ruri Hijiribe and is one of the three vice presidents of the Ruri Hijiribe fan club.
Relaxed, car fanatic.
'Hey! Your messing up my car man!'
(Sad) "Kaztano must have been kidnapped by those guys who hunt down illegal immigrants. We'll never see him again... How am I supposed to live without Kaztano? Who's going to be here to support me?!"

He is renowned as the strongest man in Ikebukuro. He currently works as Tom Tanaka's bodyguard.

"IIIIZZZAAAYYYAAAA!! DIDN'T I TELL YOU NEVER TO SET FOOT IN IIKEBUKURO AGAIN?"
(Growing angerier by the second) "Gramps, i don't have time for this. And it's not 'cause i'm busy. But i'll be damned if i have to spend more than a couple of minutes on a douche bag like you!"
"I'm not mad, I just want to kick your ass!"
"Oh! I see we have out first tardy."
"We were just doing introductions. Enlighten us with you name."
He is a childhood friend of Kida and the primary male protagonist of the series who moves to Ikebukuro at the start of the series.
Timid, polite, soft spoken but he can and will be commanding when he needs to be.
"Thinking back on it now, it's fairly strange... But on the other hand, it also makes me think as though nothing is out of the ordinary."
"Wha-ah! I-I'm so sorry!"
Is a powerful and skilled underground information broker. He usually gives information for his own enjoyment, and he claims to love the entire human race, excluding Shizuo.
He is cynical and cunning.
"No way! I'm just Izaya Orihara! Not some evil villan"
"I'm the one who had those three loosers kidnap you. Clever huh?"
"Simply put: I love humans."
like his female friend and companion, Erika, is a passionate otaku and manga reader, though he doesn't share the same love for yaoi that she does. He and Erika are nearly always together and are usually found with their friends Kyohei Kadota and Saburo Togusa. He is a member of the Dollars.
Otaku
"Your name reminds me of a manga character... Mikado-kun, right?"
is a manga reader and a fujoshi (a fan of romantic male relationships in manga and novels). She is in the Dollars and can usually be found driving around the city with her friends Walker Yumasaki, Saburo Togusa, and Kyohei Kadota. She and Walker are incredibly close due to their both being otaku (people obsessed with anime and manga).
Otaku/geek, fangirl, excitable.
"The other copies? Well they're for.... other purposes."
"Why would a high school student be using a pen name? Oh! Maybe he writes for a collumn or talks on radio or something?"
is a bespectacled girl who attends Raira Academy with her close friends Mikado and Masaomi. Though she is quiet and timid and possesses a tendency to seclude herself from others, she is intelligent, clever, and resourceful. Her full figure and shy behavior give her the unwanted attention of many males, though she prefers to distance herself from uncomfortable situations and does nothing about the unwanted attention, allowing her friends to defend her.
Timid, quiet and reserved.
"Uh-um, do any males want to run for their classroom representative position?"
"W-wait! Hold on!"
is a young underground doctor who lives withCelty Sturluson. He stays mostly indoors and wears a white coat even when not working as a doctor.
As a doctor, Shinra is rather interested in what he finds as interesting phenomena, such as Shizuo's power and Celty's body functions.
Goofy, excitable and friendly!
"Well, it dosen't sould like it's going to be a though job."

also known as "The Black Rider" or "The Headless Rider," is a fairy called a Dullahan from Ireland who came to Japan looking for her stolen head. Her motorcycle is actually a familiar called a Cóiste Bodhar in disguise, which she has named Shooter and whose favored alternate guise is a headless horse.
Serious, emotionally expressive.
"Is the reality you see the only one? Or could there be others?"
"I heard humans have dreams in order to organize their memories. Is this true?"
is a resident of Ikebukuro and Mikado Ryūgamine's best friend from childhood. He is the one who encourages Mikado to come to Ikebukuro to attend Raira Academy. Masaomi is enthusiastic about picking up girls despite repeated failures and acts as the comedic foil to Mikado and Anri in the early portions of the series.
Goody and confident.
"Hey, whatever you do stay away from Shizuo Heiwajima."
"What? You've forgotten? Then I'll give you three answers. One! Masaomi Kida! Two! Masaomi Kida! Three!! Masaomi Kid"
