Drawn Away: An Original Adult Animated Sitcom
Project Overview
Hey everyone! This is a casting call for Episode 1 of an original animated series called Drawn Away. Sage House Studio out of Jacksonville FL is producing the animation and will be entering it into film and animation festivals after it's completion. Any lead role in this has the potential to become long term and ongoing as well as eventual paid if the right audience is reached.
There will be no waiting period for the script as it is already created. The story board will be created after lines are recorded. Any alterations to the script will be discussed after the storyboard is completed.
We will showcase all of the voice actors on IMDb and give the appropriate credit to everyone who helped during the production process.
OVERVIEW
"Drawn Away" is an adult animated comedy with a sitcom feel. Our family of eccentric individuals get forced into strange adventures that occur due to the special abilities of the young daughter and her imagination. When she draws and makes a story up, her imagination becomes reality to those around her. Each episode will be nearly half an hour each.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
We will be utilizing discord to our advantage to communicate and using dropbox and/or emails for file submissions. We ask to keep things professional and fun! If you are selected for a role and would like to have live direction while audition, we can set that up and make it work!
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
- Audition for as many roles as you like!
- Have fun and be creative! You can adlib in your lines as long as the point of the lines are met and understood. The best part of recording audio before animation is having the capability to alter the script and adlib!
- If you record your lines more than once, please use an AA, BB, CC format.
- Have a good quality microphone and a decent recording space. Please do not have a lot of reverb, background noise, etc. (no headset mics please.)
- No need to use sound reduction in your submissions. It tends to distort your mic quality and we can remove any background buzzing as needed.
- Recordings will need to be in .wav format.
- We may need retakes of lines to get the correct tone or mood.
Please note that we will not be selecting who got the roles until the deadline is completed. We want everyone to have an equal chance to audition.

Jeff is the Dad. He is a bit overdramatic. He likes to drink and can be a bit of an idiot at times.
Do YOU want to have to live knowing you missed out on midget mayhem? I certainly don't!
(fighting of a monster cookie) Ohhh, you're gonna regret touching my wife! (monster cookie melts in giant cup of milk) You just got lactose exonerated, punk.
Where's the refreshments? Isn't there supposed to be refreshments after things like this?
Claire is our young daughter. She is spunky, imaginative, cute, and all around happy.
Right now... I'm just going to draw a picture for mommy and daddy.
And that's when the 50 eyed gumball falls out of the sky and tries to crush daddy.
Then the king of the candy monsters comes down to fight. If they can (makes throat cutting noises) the king, then they become the new rulers of the candy monsters!
Emma is our teenaged baby sitter who watches Claire while the parents are out. She is sweet and cares a lot about Claire.
So kiddo, what are we going to do for the next two days?
Mr. Miller.. I don't think they want you to have any money.
Oh dear! that sounds dreadful!
Grandpa Miller is an eccentric old man. He likes gambling and gets into all sorts of trouble. He seems to be oblivious to a lot of modern day stuff. He is the lead of our B story in episode 1.
Who the heck are you? Where's my son and his gold digger at?
Oh, looks like she forgot to put on her clothes. I've done that more times than I'd like to count haha.
I didn't touch your damn money. I have my own ways hehe.

The background artist will be working directly with me to produce scene backgrounds for the animation. This role is extremely creative and has a lot of versatility in how the design should look.
