Dragon Tamers is a comedy slice-of-life webseries.

This is a fandub for a webcomic, so please look up The Dragon Tamers by @pommuart on Twitter and Webtoon. It'll help you out a lot with your audition. Try not to confuse this and Dragon Tamer by the same artist. That one is the prequel to this comic, it focuses on the parents of Reiko.

As of right now this will only cover a few of the first strips of the comic that were initially posted on Twitter. As for the chapters available on Webtoon, I'll see how this goes first. Again, the prequel series Dragon Tamer is a different project that I'm not working on right now.

DISCLAIMER:

The original Twitter comic is still available, though the original account was hacked. The artist currently doesn't have access to it and it can't easily be shared. Though it should be easy to find with a quick Google search and the artist's username.

There are multiple character voice references for almost each role, you don't need to mimic the voices listed, as they're quite varied.

Also, please be open to additional voices for background characters. Even if you don't get a main listed role, I'd love to have you stick around for these, they're important too.

    Alright! I've been going through the cast for the past few days. Hopefully I can list the full cast all at once! Everyone keep your DMs open or any other way to get to you, I know I'll need additional voices!

    Happy New Year to everyone that auditioned! No one has been officially cast in any role yet, so I will be working on that this month. Depending on how things go, I'd like to be able to put something out for this project by March at the latest. I might reopen the kid roles for a few weeks so keep your eyes open!

    Also, I'm doing the first few strips of the initial twitter posts of this series. Eventually I'll do later strips, that will mean more characters to cast!

    I'll probably message a lot of you about additional voices, and I'm still shortlisting. Thanks everyone so much for being willing to be a part of my first dub project!

  • 15 days left!

    Hey all. After today, I'll be closing submissions for Reiko, Reimi, Kyoshi, and Yuna. That'll leave all of the child roles along with Yuko and Silvie open for auditions until the deadline. Nothing's final yet but I'd like to get to work on the first few strips by the end of January. Check your DMs! Thanks for auditioning for my project!

  • 100 Submissions!?!

    Wow guys, that's a lot of you wanting to be a part of this project, thanks so much!!! The deadline for auditions is at the end of the month/year. I'll start by closing and shortlisting a few roles moving forward. Yes, Mark and Nick are the first ones getting closed, I got a LOT of submissions for both, more than I could've anticipated for my first fandub.

    I'll likely start contacting some of you through DMs to get some idea of who's willing to record live going forward. Not required, but it's something I'd like to know is all. Also, please remember, I WILL be needing ADDITIONAL VOICES. Thanks for following the project and I encourage you to stick around!

    Hi everyone, I hope everyone who auditioned sees this. I'm still in need of people for a few more roles. Notably Sylvie and Yuko. I may have forgotten to say this in the last update but even if you aren't chosen for the role, I'd appreciate it if you'd like to stick around for additional voices!
    I'll be putting together the first few strips of Dragon Tamers. Once I can be confident in not only directing everyone on the project but also be confident in putting it all together, I'll likely continue onto more of the series. Which would mean more auditions for more characters!

    I think today or tomorrow is the last day that CCC will push my project on the main page, so I'll be using other means to push my project before the deadline next month. I'd appreciate it if you could help me out with that.

Reiko (Pronounced Ray - Koh) is a sweet and friendly tomboy most of the time, but she definitely has an edge. She was the one who gave Nikki and Mochi their nicknames as kids. She's not very good at school. She likes watching anime and gaming — likely due to her Japanese heritage — and she purchases anime figurines. Her family moved to Japan and she returns during senior year of high school. Knows a little Japanese but doesn't speak the language.

Tall, quiet, himbo/gym bro type. Real name Mark, nicknamed Mochi (pronounced Moe - chee) by Reiko. He's athletic and has an ongoing rivalry with Reiko's older sister. (He always loses) When he's not working out or playing sports, he's often hanging out with Nick and Reiko. Sometimes butting heads with Reimi.

Mark's nerdy best friend. Nerdy both in school and in interests. Blind as a bat without his glasses. Almost a male Velma. He finds Reiko's childhood nickname for him, "Nikki" to be embarrassing, but doesn't tell her to stop. (They kinda like each other) He's the smartest and safest one of the friend group. Mild-mannered, thoughtful. Sometimes comes off as timid.

Reimi (Pronounced Ray-Mee) is Reiko's older sister, brash and short-tempered with a black belt in karate. She views Nikki and Mochi as losers and doesn't want them hanging out with Reiko. Her stance on this softens over time, if only slightly. Reimi is rude and dismissive to her opponents, especially to Mark/Mocchi. The two of them butt heads constantly and get into fights all the time, which other characters interpret as signs of attraction. Mostly a rough exterior, but does have a slightly softer side to her that she doesn't let out often. Very much a Tsundere, though much more of the tsun than the dere

Reimi and Reiko's mother. A kind, supportive woman. She's nothing but a kind and nice wife and mother. During her youth, she's a virtuous and innocent girl who believed that Kiyoshi could be redeemed. Despite her kind personality, she's a little too into being intimate with her husband. 

She wasn't exactly on board with her husband training their children in martial arts, and athletics in order to toughen them up at first. However, she grows to be supportive of this. Can and will put her foot down when it's necessary, especially when it comes to her children.

Reimi and Reiko's father, the CEO of a company who  moved to the United States for work. A former Yakuza turned family man. Happily married To Yuko. During his youth, he was known as the "Young Dragon." He's a relatively good parent towards Reiko and his other kids. He really loves his wife. Very protective of his family. He's far stronger than he looks. He's trained both Reimi and Reiko from their early childhood development and encourages Reimi's fighting tendencies as they grow older, against Yuko's wishes. For the most part, he's mellowed out from his brutish, delinquent attitude. But can't seem to help himself when it comes to enjoying a fight. Very flirty with his wife.

Reiko's goth, quiet friend. Essentially the opposite of Sylvie. Always seen with Sylvie Usually speaks in one word responses. Her vocal tone is pretty monotone and dry. Think slightly louder than a whisper, but a low and enunciated mumble.
