Noby is the hero at best and the villain at worst. At the beginning of the series, Noby is a rather lazy person who has a cycle of constantly napping after school, keeping him up late when he wakes up late for school. This cycle of laziness occurs almost every day, keeping him up late at night and wake up late the next morning, hindering him academically. Noby is very dependent on Doraemon and begs for multiple things, much to his disapproval. Many things that Noby wishes for include; vengeance on his bullies, a better product than what Sneech brags about, and privileges

Sneech Honekawa

Sneech's personality is described as a cunning, prideful, cocky, arrogant, and narcissistic, as he always brags about unusual (and expensive) stuff including toys, comics, etc, he often brags about his dad's position as a president director of a company and holds a deep respect towards him (he wants to be the successor of the company). His highest and most "easy-to-see" personality is narcissism, in which often he likes to look in the mirror and talk about how handsome he is (like the queen in Snow White). Some of the stories start with Sneech showing off some new video game or toy which evokes Noby's envy and irritation. He has extensive knowledge of science and is a talented artist and designer.

  • The most important thing in this world right now is money, followed by brains and inspiration.

Sue is a smart and kind neighbourhood girl. She is, unlike Nobita, a quick-witted and very studious child. Sue loves to bathe and does it several times a day passionately. Unlike Noby, Sneech and Big G, she is not a fan of video games.

Big G is known for his overconfidence in his terrible singing voice, though he considers himself to be a great singer. Singing is a prominent hobby of Big G, in which he thinks himself proficient. However, his singing is actually very appalling almost to the point where people often pass out upon hearing his singing. Nonetheless, he manages to "convince" the neighborhood to be his concert audience, and even force them into praising his singing. But in some episodes when his voice is recorded and he hears it, he denies it being his voice and threatens to beat up the person who sung his songs terribly. He regularly subjects the neighborhood children to horrendous singing recitals, which is sometimes combined with his equally bad homemade dinner and his atrocious fashion sense.

Nobisuke is a typical Japanese salary man: working in a firm as a commoner, maintaining various hobbies and traits such as golfing, fishing, smoking (which he failed to quit albeit attempting so for many times. But, in 2005 Anime, Nobisuke almost never smokes), drinking (of sake), etc. Though, Nobisuke is not considered the best in the more athletic hobbies, as he's often at the end of the joke about these abilities (or lack thereof). Also, a running gag in the manga is that he never manages to get a driver's license due to his poor skills.

He's generally more tolerant towards his son, Noby, compared with his wife Tamako. Nonetheless, Nobisuke cares Nobita's achievements a lot, and sometimes makes comments or conversations that affect Noby considerably, in one way or another. He also shows interest in a great variety of challenges and adventures, sometimes sparking worries of his family, even to a point of requiring Doraemon's gadgets to protect him from nuisance and accidents.

  • Difficulties make a person better.

Tamako Nobi

Tamako is very serious about Noby's exams, and often punishes him for hiding the results, but deeply loves Noby and cares for him. Her personality doesn't change very much, being a bit hot-headed at times, but usually quite calm but is very serious most of the time when dealing with Noby, and sometimes punishes Nobita due to his very lazy and air-headed nature. Noby sometimes thinks she is a rather blunt, condescending, heartless, tyrannical, sadistic, dismissive she-demon without a sense of humor and gets mad over the smallest thing. He also believes that she treats him like an errand boy by making him do some shopping for her. Tamako is the one who cooks and cleans the house (like a typical Japanese housewife), sometimes with the help of Doraemon. She is mainly serious in the matter of the money, such as when Noby asks his mother to buy a computer, only to scold him as she thinks it is a waste of money. She also always bans Noby from raising pets.

  • You need to work twice as hard as others only to have half the result.

  • Have you completed your homework, Noby?
