Doki Doki Literature Girls: DDLC?
Project Overview
This will be an animated rendition of this post from the internet comic: Doki Doki Literature Girls! I'm looking for anyone interested in doing the roles for Monika, Yuri, Natsuki, and Sayori. The original game they are from is Doki Doki Literature Club, so if you're looking to understand one of these characters' roles, then I'd recommend you play it here. (It's free!)
Update: (Sept. 25) I've decided I want to do a lot more scenes for this project. I updated the word counts for the roles accordingly and this description. Here are the 8 posts that will be covered: 1, 3, 12, 13, 17, 24, 32, 41, 42, 44
Feel free to DM me any questions or recommendations about this!

Thank you all for auditioning! There's some really great VA auditions and I need a little more time to decide! Feel free to DM me if you have any questions! Thanks! ~Zaun
Natsuki's personality is based on the tsundere trope, She's a bit difficult to get to know and could come off as standoffish if you say the wrong thing around her. Her cute appearance is juxtaposed against her persona. She enjoys reading manga and baking.
Natsuki's voice would come off as naturally cute. She's not trying to make it cute. I imagine her talking speed to be above average but not too fast. She tends to use words that are simple and straight-forward when talking to anyone - even someone new.
"What are you looking at? If you want to say something, say it."
"She never puts my stuff back in the right spot! What's the point in keeping your collection organized if someone else is just gonna mess it up?"
"I'm not cute!!"
Monika is the president of the Literature Club. Her character is described as sweet, confident and "the best". However, she's not entirely one-sided. She's able to fake her persona, carefully choose her words and act in a manner with an air of mystique. I'd best describe her voice as a mix of:
1. modulated, A very controlled and pleasant voice
2. orotund: Very formal, loud, clear and powerful voice
with a slight flatness to it:
Flatness means no intonation and monotonous, it means they have a flat voice.
Her voice is more orotund when she's making announcements or in a good mood. When she's talking to someone personally, she gets more serious and it would be more modulated and slightly flat.
These descriptions are just general guidelines and her voice should adjust to the context.
"As president of the Literature Club, it's my duty to make the club fun and exciting for everyone!"
"Sometimes it feels like you and I are the only real people here. But it's weird, because in all the time you've been here, we've hardly gotten to spend any time together."
Do you just want to torture me? Watch me suffer? Were you only pretending to be kind, just to hurt me even more?I never thought anyone could be as horrible as you are.
Yuri has two modes of rhetoric. In a typical social situation, she's often a bit reserved and shy. This changes when she talks about something she's passionate about - like literature. When she gets in the zone, she knows how to speak at a high level and with precision. I'd describe her voice as well-mannered, posh, and silvery (light and pleasant). Her word choice in these situations would lean to being pretentious or elitist.
When Yuri is put under too much social pressure, her anxiety can get the best of her, She may sound really nervous/awkward and harsh when she's unhinged. Not in an evil way, but in more of a psychotic way.
"Isn't it amazing how a writer can so deliberately take advantage of your own lack of imagination to completely throw you for a loop?"
"The world is full of meaning, often hidden deep beneath plain sight. And there are many untold mysteries behind every person, no matter how well you may know them."
"I'm being unreasonable?
Ahahaha!
Monika, I can't believe how delusional and self-important you are!
Pulling MC away from me every single time you're not included in something.
Are you jealous?
Crazy?
Or maybe just hate yourself so much that you take it out on others?"
Sayori enjoys making her friends feel happy and helps them get along. I'd describe her voice as genuine, friendly and a tad silly. She can get a bit melancholy at times though, so expect her to speak slower and as if she's weighed down.
"I'm not very good at figuring out if poems are good or bad...But that's why I just go by my heart~If it makes me feel things, then it must be a good poem!"
"Ehehe, sorry...Don't mind me.You can go talk to everyone else."
"I like happy the most, but sometimes when you have a little raincloud in your head...a sad poem can help give the raincloud a little hug...And make a nice happy rainbow!"
