Doctor Who: Regenerated

Doctor Who: Regenerated

Project Overview

Hello! I and a good friend of mine have been writing and working on a sort of "Elevator Pitch" video for our idea of Doctor Who era. Thus, we've done a bit of work to write out a lot of dialogue for examples and wanted some voice actors to see what they'd like to provide us. Obviously, we'd like voice talent from the UK. Doesn't matter where in the UK, but we'd like to keep the traditional accents you'd usually hear in DW.

The Master has been one of the Doctor’s nemeses for as long as we the audience have known. Though this Master is quite different from your traditional one. Whereas the usual Master tends to be your traditional mustache curling schemer, this Master has existed for so long that there’s been a shift in his viewpoint in personality. He is still a schemer, but he doesn’t do it for self gain or joy anymore. But instead because he believes this is just who he is now. The Doctor and him have battled for so long and through so many regenerations, that he believes if The Doctor represents kindness and goodwill, then he must act as his equal and opposite force.

Essentially, we're going for a much more cold and calculated Master. A man who's lacking his emotions due to millenias, or even eons, of suffering.

  • Doctor, The difference between you and I at this junction is that I’ve got more of the puzzle put together than you. You’ve been scrambling for the pieces since that man appeared on your TARDIS. In other words, I was ahead of you. For once, I’ve won.

  • Careful. Sentimentality is one of your faults.

  • I am what I am, Doctor. This function, this interaction, this moment has happened many times throughout our history. And it’ll keep happening. I’ve just accepted the facts.

This Doctor’s 2nd companion in his era. Xy is a man from the 51st century. He’s a war veteran who fought on the front lines in a future war (which we haven’t had named yet) and is a man who knows how to compose himself, despite the many traumas he’s experienced in his life. Though he isn’t in combat gear and has been out of the service for many years, he knows how to generally use most weapons once given to him.

We're looking for a voice that's maybe a bit rugged, down to Earth, but is still soft enough to empathize with. And of course, a voice from the UK.

  • I’m sorry Doctor, but there’s no other way. If we don’t kill this ship then it’ll just be recaptured by the Varnians and be used to kill more people. It’s not even a transport ship anymore, it’s a damn warship.

  • And what? You’re just the embodiment of all that’s moral now, huh? Maybe, I did the right thing. I mean, what if that thing took over a planet, what then?

  • Soldiers make sacrifices, right?

  • I can buy, and buy, and buy. I’ve bought everything I ever wanted and seen. I could even. Buy. You.

  • Everything has a price to someone. And that is why currency exists. Because if we cannot make it physical, then why the hell would anyone believe in it?

  • You know, that level of feistiness could’ve made you a great business… whatever you are.
