Devil Number 4 Comic Dub
Project Overview
Greetings and salutations!
This casting call is for a comic dub of the webtoon Devil Number 4! It's a romantic and modern-day fantasy tale of 20-year-old Hanna Yoon, who is a poor and struggling college student, and how she is approached by No. 4, a Devil that promises to grant her a life fulfilling wish if she signs a contract with him with her soul as payment to him.
There is light levels of cursing in the story and there are themes of death and loss that may be heavy for some, so I would request that those of you auditioning are 15 or older and comfortable with addressing these themes!
I also ask that if you decide to audition, you will be punctual if not early with turning in your lines! If you need any extensions for any reason, then I understand completely and will provide extensions for you specifically. But please do your best to be timely with your lines once cast!
Be kind and nice to everyone else in the project. This is for fun, so please be respectful. I will take you out of the project if you do anything that is considered bullying or just downright mean and disrespectful.

Hanna is shy and quiet, and has a tendency to be unintentionally blunt and is a straightforward person. She doesn't have many desires, and hasn't wished for anything in a long time. Because of how focused she was on school, her classmates found her difficult to approach.
Voice Type: Medium / Medium-low, monotonous but not deadpan. Mostly casual if anything.
[Contemplative and calm, recounting her dream] A man appeared in my dream. A very handsome man at that...
[Startled, but not over the top] How did you appear out of nowhere? Like before, you disappeared into thin air...
[With a smile in your tone, subtly happy] Unnies! You're here early! My stuff already got here. I was just getting organized.
Joon is happy and easygoing, but he can get protective and firm when he stands up for his friends, especially Hanna. He has a big crush on her.
Voice Type: Medium / Medium-High, a voice with a good range for genuinely warm bouts of happiness to emotional performances with anger and sadness.
[Friendly and warm] You don't have your book? You can look at mine if you want.
[Confused] Is this some new way of rejecting people?
[Serious and angry] What the hell do you think you're doing?
[Downright angry and protective] You're way out of line here.
No. 313 is a Devil with refined tastes, loves the aesthetically pleasing things in life, though he complains a lot, is sensitive, and an opportunist to climb the ranks of his job for better gains and a more comfortable life.
Voice Type: Medium. In some ways, he is a comedic relief and is a light-hearted character in the midst of everything, so I want a voice that can portray his carefree nature and lightheartedness while also maintaining the energy to blurt out when picked on by other characters.
[Hyped and admiring] Wow, how long has it been since I last came to the human realm? It's always so damn noisy here!
[Amicable and diplomatic, lighthearted tone with a smile] Hey, let's not do this between Devils. Anyhow, the point is to grab the human's attention.
[Flirty] Look this way~
[Flabbergasted] How are you going to run a café without a barista?!
Sweetie is one of Hanna's friends and roommates, and much like Hanna, she is monotonous and blunt with her words, though she seems more soft spoken and willing to socialize with others compared to Hanna. She is mature in her manner and the most understanding of Hanna's shyness.
Voice Type: Medium / Medium-low. Monotonous, calm, and dry. You don't need to have too big of a range with her voice, but a consistent straightforward tone is definitely her.
[Monotonous but gently friendly] ...Hi, Hanna.
[Monotonous and calm] Hyeri, Suji and I are holding a BBQ party. Do you want to come?
[Monotonous, but have some volume when calling out Hanna's name] Hanna! Did it leak a lot? Want some help?
Suji (sometimes spelled Soo Ji) is tomboyish, boisterous, and has the highest energy out of all of Hanna's friends and roommates.
Voice Type: Medium-low. Go for a voice that has energy, generally happy and laidback, but can come back down for casual conversation.
[Casual conversation] She's the one from the side room, right? The one with the $250 rent? I only lasted three days in that room. It's virtually unliveable.
[Happy and energetic] Morning! What a beautiful day!
[Determined and protective] If it looks like he is bullying Hanna, we will...
[Boisterous declaration] Bury him! [Laugh out loud]
Hyeri is the most feminine out of all of Hanna's friends and roommates. She is a big sister type and keeps an eye out for all of her friends no matter what, as well as the most short-tempered out of all the girls.
Voice Type: Medium-high / High. She would have range from being caring to her friends to fierce and hotheaded when talking about things that make her mad.
[Annoyed and mad] Don't you guys feel like your rights have been violated? How can she force us out on such short notice?!
[Disbelief] No way...
[Energetic and determined] Yeah! Just bury him!
No. 2 has strong moral principles and an unorthodox moral compass. She tends to question the rules, and will break them if she does not believe in them.
She has a very small role in these first ten episodes, but she will come back and be a more active role in the plot.
Voice Type: Medium / Medium-low. I would go for a sophisticated and mature voice, something that sounds dignified and confident when she speaks.
[Calm, matter of fact] How pitiful. Were you actually trying to run? As long as you are alive, you won't be able to escape from us.
[Calm, caring tone] Kid. You can choose how you want to live your life. But stay away from contracts with high risks. Especially ones made with a Devil.
[Calm and insightful] Sometimes, it's better to follow the ways of the human heart.
No. 678 is a Devil that looks like a little boy and his Devil partner is No. 498. They are both sly and conniving and use their child appearances to their advantage when getting people to sign contracts with them. They are both sadistic and cruel, though he seems to be the more calculative.
Voice Type: High. Go for your best little boy voice here!
[Bright eyed admiration] Even the paper is different?
[Calm and dark tone] Enough, stop with the bad acting.
[Calm and evil tone, smirking] Hey you. You're that human who has no desires?
No. 498 is the Devil coworker and partner of No. 678, and she is the more emotional and short tempered between the both of them. She is sly, conniving, and sadistically cruel.
Voice Type: High. Go for your best little girl voice!
[Bright eyed with admiration] It's so shiny and golden... woah...
[Sad and helpless] Unnie, my little brother is hungry. Can't you give us a cookie?
[Temper tantrum] We are cute and powerless children!!
This is the younger version of Hanna from a flashback sequence. If you auditioned for Hanna, feel free to audition for her child voice too. The vocal direction is the same.
Voice Type: High.
[Soft spoken] Mom, I'm home.
[Calm on the phone] We live at Chun Song Condos. Building 3 room 205, my mom seems to have overdosed on some pills.
Hanna's mom was a negligent mother and they currently live apart, and they are both content with that.
Voice Type: Medium-low.
[Stern and cold] Why haven't you gone to school yet?
[Miserable] Hang up the phone... Just let me die...
Female Devil (She has a numbered name, but they didn't put it out there in the first 10 chapters and there's no wiki out there yet that helped me find her name *cries*) is seductive and beautiful, and she holds her beauty as a weapon in her line of contract work.
Voice Type: Medium-low / Low. Go for a charming and sultry voice for her, though she won't be purposely putting on the charms all the time.
[Casual] Simple. My dazzling beauty. Apparently, men just can't resist external beauty.
[Stern] As for you, what's the point of being good looking if you don't put it to good use?
[Disgust and annoyed] Let's go, No. 712. No point talking to this pervert.
No. 712 has a mellow front, but is actually very short tempered and has a fierce sense of right and wrong when it comes to social norms it seems.
Voice Type: High. Be free to go from sweet and then downright rough and explosive with your voice lines for her.
[Curious] Have you tried seducing others, No. 313?
[Disgusted] No matter how good looking you are, she's way too young. Twenty one in Korea is actually twenty in other parts of the world.
[Pissed] You want a piece of this?!
