Demon Slayer: Upper Moon 1 Battle
Project Overview
I am producing a motion comic adaptation of the Kokushibo fight from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. We are seeking talented, energetic voice actors to bring the characters to life using the original manga panels as our visual foundation.
Requirements:
Age: 16+
Experience: All skill levels welcome, but must have strong energy and expressiveness in delivery.
Connection: Must be able to record and communicate via Discord.
Audio Quality: Clean recordings, no background noise, non-mixed, no headset microphones, camera microphones, phone microphones, etc.
Performance Freedom: Must be willing to give their interpretation of the characters and explore emotions.
Recording Guidelines:
Provide AABBCC takes (or triple takes) for each line so we can pick the best fit.
Keep recordings raw/unmixed, labeled clearly by character and line number.
Avoid additional effects; we will handle editing, timing, and mixing.
Energetic and emotional performances are highly encouraged — fight intensity, fear, tension, and dramatic moments should be fully expressed.
Use the references alongside the character you're auditioning for to see how similar you sound! I will be choosing people off of energy & similarity :)
You must be able to scream, cuss & show lots of emotion within your voice.
Non-Voice Actor Roles -
Video Editor: Brings manga panels to life with motion, transitions, and timing synced to voices and sound. Skilled in editing software and visual storytelling.
Audio Engineer: Organizes, cleans, and prepares all voice and sound recordings for editing. Ensures audio quality and proper file management.
Musician / Composer: Creates dynamic, emotional music to match fight sequences and dramatic beats. Delivers clean, adaptable audio for integration.
Requirements for all roles: Must be 16+, energetic, creative, collaborative, and able to work remotely via Discord.

Kokushibo is a powerful and fearsome warrior who exudes both elegance and menace. Once a proud samurai and demon slayer named Michikatsu Tsugikuni, he carries himself with calm authority and refined discipline, yet beneath his composed exterior lies deep envy and arrogance. His voice should be deep, resonant, and commanding—articulate with a cold, dignified tone that reflects centuries of wisdom and resentment. In moments of anger, his restraint fractures, revealing a feral and wrathful nature that contrasts sharply with his usual control. The ideal vocal portrayal captures this balance between noble composure and demonic pride, embodying both the tragic past and monstrous power that define Kokushibo.

Genya Shinazugawa is a fierce and complex demon slayer, known for his rough exterior and deeply emotional core. Hardened by a painful past and driven by a desperate need to prove himself, he often comes across as abrasive, blunt, and hot-headed. Beneath that aggression, however, is a vulnerable young man longing for acceptance and strength, especially in the shadow of his older brother, Sanemi. His voice should be gritty and intense, carrying a sense of frustration, defiance, and raw determination. In softer moments, that same voice should reveal his inner conflict and pain, showing the humanity behind his hardened demeanor. The ideal portrayal balances youthful anger with emotional depth, capturing Genya’s journey from rage and insecurity to courage and self-acceptance.

Sanemi Shinazugawa, a fierce and battle-hardened warrior defined by his volatile temper and unyielding strength. Every word should carry the weight of his pain and his unwavering resolve to protect humanity at any cost. The ideal portrayal captures this duality: a man consumed by fury and grief, yet driven by love and duty more powerful than either.
