DEADMONT: The Musical (ACT ONE Audio Recording)
Project Overview
(All auditioners must be willing to sing! It is also preferred that you are able to read sheet music.)
In a post-apocalyptic world where ruthless killers infest the desert land, Arlo Alabaster’s first day at Restore Corp doesn’t go exactly as planned. Will Arlo be able to retrieve the last ingredient to the life serum, save his father, and restore life on Earth?
Deadmont is an original musical by Seth Wilson that is currently in the works. Act One has just been fully scripted and scored, so I decided that it would be fun to simply gather volunteers to try and record everything to make a Deadmont musical Audiobook/soundtrack.

They were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Alright buddy, I’ve gotta get going now. The lab is just down the road and I can’t be late. From this day on, Arlo Alabaster is officially a scientist at Restore Corp. I swear people will see the wind brush across the grass again. See you later, when I’m one step closer to my dream!
This is one of my personal favorite inventions. The Zap-amatron-nator-thingymabobber… I haven’t come up with a good name yet. A taser? Ohhh, those only existed before the Great Explosion Event of 20 years ago! Wait, I have to explain that too, don’t I?… You know what? I think I’ll let you all find out for yourselves. For now, it’s time to get to the lab!
Where do I have to go?! Oh, forget that. I have to be here to help you. How can I leave you alone when I don’t even know if you’ll be here when I get back?!
(Baritone Bb2-G4) - Champion of the Deadmont Colosseum, he is strong, brash, and a little dim-bulbed. He has a memory problem but when it comes to physicalities he certainly gets the job done. He is Arlo’s high-spirited best friend who’s actor must be skilled with comedic timing.

Hah! You certainly got a mouth on ya! I admire that quite the bit. Unfortunately though, I don’t think it’s gonna save ya.
I don’t have time for this crap. I didn’t come here for story time! Show me what you got already!
I cannot STAND that Blackhawk. You know, one time I remember we was in the militia together. Him and his boys put roaches in my bag! Never again am I comin’ over to his tent to kill the spider he be screamin’ like a little girl over.
(Baritone D3-B3) - Arlo’s father, he is the founder of Restore Corp. He is kind-hearted, and treats everyone with respect. He shows respect for Azazel, despite his actions.

Almost finished! Just a few finishing touches and it should be functioning and ready to go!
Don’t give me the credit, you all are doing your jobs just fine. We have to get back to our work now, it’s a big day for our operation.
Splendidly. You’re lucky to start your work here at the absolute best time that you could be. The serum is almost finished, and we’ll be ready to start our restoration expedition in due time. Are you excited for your first day?
(Bass E2-Bb3) - The main antagonist of the show. Voice must be deep. A former scientist at Life Incorporated, he hides away in the ruins of the old lab. He is responsible for the Explosion Event, and he contemplates his decision frequently. Still, he carries hate for civilization, and remains true to his ideals. He is cunning and wise, despite his questionable beliefs.

I only worry that there’s something still left alive on this planet to serve me my unpaid dues on a spiked platter.
There is no hope for vermin like me. …How is one to fair knowing that the common folk spread across this lifeless desert wasteland speak of a tragedy that you created as the worst thing to ever happen to humanity? They used to say that humanity would destroy itself. Little did they know it would only take only a foolish man.
(He chuckles in his moment of insanity.) Yes, there is nothing to worry about when there is nothing left to worry about but meeting the Devil himself face to face.
(Alto G#3-G#4) - Mohammad’s lady companion who may or may not have a romantic bond with him. She is calm and collected, albeit alluring, but supports Azazel through his contemplation. She seems to be bad at first, but eventually she realizes Mohammad’s wrongdoings and goes against him.

I wouldn’t call yourself any more or less than normal, Doctor. Not everyone can say that they can see the future.
Now, Mohammad. Everyone has evil left inside of them one way or another, but there is room left for the good as well.
Because there is good inside you still. Why else would you shun the evil?
(Low Baritone F2-C4) - The leader of his own scavenger gang, reoccurs to give Arlo and his friends trouble. The so-called sheriff of Deadmont, who keeps people in line through fear. Hard country accent.

Well ain’t that somethin’? Little ole’ martial artist we got here. But, just yer body ain’t gonna save ya. Shouldn’ta brought your fists to a gun fight!
What kinda dimwit WILLINGLY heads their horse over to a place like that?!
There is certainly a problem, yes! Yew of all people should know what we do to traitors around here. Yew might be strong Mr. Delgado, but yer only human. One small, fragile human...
(Baritone A2-D4) - The comedic narrator of the story who integrates himself into the Deadmont universe. Sort of an officer Lockstock situation.

Some nasty buggers, they are! Good thing I always carry a prop blood pouch on me, one of the many rules for survival out here in the wasteland.
Now, let’s get to looking at how our hero is fairing. Seems like he’s been cooped up in his home, or desert shelter as we call it, for much too long. He’s finally ready to take on his awaited adventure.
You know if I were him I’da known better not to trust strangers around here. Let’s hope he doesn’t run into any trouble.
