Danganronpa: Kirigiri is a set of seven light novels written by Takekuni Kitayama and Kazutaka Kodaka, published from 2013-2020.
From the perspective of a new character, Yui Samidare, we explore her and a young Kyoko Kirigiri's investigation into uncovering the truth of "The Victims Catharsis Committee" and their true intentions. During this, they will encounter many different and unique people, for better or worse.
Volume 1 is the beginning of the elongated tragedy and of Yui & Kyoko's detective relationship as they find themselves trapped inside an abandoned old laboratory as part of a "Duel Noir", a challenge set for them to find the murderer of their detective partners and bring justice to them... or maybe bring justice to the killer.
"The Danganronpa: Kirigiri Audiobook Project" is meant to bring light to an overlooked entry of the Danganronpa franchise, and for many people inside and outside the fandom, experience it or re-experience it in a new format. Seven casting calls will be published for each of the seven individual novels. This casting call is solely for Volume 1.

Due to the overall content of the Danganronpa series, all novels have intense content, spanning from depictions of murder & death, depictions of blood & gore, pedophilia, threats of & implied rape, implied self-harm & suicide, and general violence

VAs must record with a microphone that picks up little to no background noise once they are recording. We are not requiring it to be industry standard, obviously, but considering this is an audiobook, the higher quality microphone the better!
Spectators who may join the Discord server, refrain from asking frequent questions about progress/release dates. Please do not ping directors/management for this purpose either.
We consider ourselves a rather laid-back team, but please do your best to get your lines in on time! If you are not able to meet a deadline or even continue working on the project altogether, please inform us. I promise we are understanding! But we need communication.

This audition space is for a variety of miscellaneous voices throughout the novel that are too minor for their own audition space. If hired, you will be asked to either do one or a variety of miscellaneous voices spanning the entire series. Role: Minor Character
TΕkichirΕ EndΕ is a shady elderly man who's a member of the Victims Catharsis Committee. A reoccurring scout throughout the series, he persuades victims of crime to seek revenge by playing their games, the Duel Noirs.

From several years of mental and physical torment, Asakura Tadashiβs life has grown bitter without any hope or strength to live meaningfully.
Disguised as a lookalike (Shiita Enbi), Asakura takes revenge on the one person who brought his every misfortune. He is the Perpetrator of the Sirius Observatory case.
Note: while disguising as Shiita Enbi, he is monotone with an intimidating appearance.

Content warning: This character is implied through dialogue to be a creep and have uncomfortable interactions with minors / children. Discretion is advised.
Despite his unkept appearance, Kou Inuzuka is a highly ranked detective who specializes in murder. He is middle aged, typically drunk, and often boastful of his deduction skills. He is one of the detectives invited to the Sirius Observatory case.

Eigo Amino is an arrogant detective involved in the Sirius Observatory case, typically nagging at the situation at hand. Finding out the others have higher ranks than him, he becomes insecure and fawning towards them. He is in his mid thirties with a professional look to him.

*Note: This character is a very minor character in Volume 1, but does have a speaking line in the volume. He is a side character and has a majority of his dialogue in Volume 2.
A double ranking detective known for his quick speed (βAllegro Agitatoβ), Suisei Nanamura assists Yui Samidare and Kyoko Kirigiri on investigating the Victims Catharsis Committee. Flamboyant as can be, he is found frequently making a big entrance for himself.

Kyoko Kirigiri's maternal grandfather. A traditional old man who respects the family creed and carries a strong sense of protection for his granddaughter (granted she too follows their principles). He is experienced in all forms of Martial Arts and is the current caretaker of Kyoko.
