Contest Entry in Need of Voice Actors

Contest Entry in Need of Voice Actors

Project Overview

Here's the rundown:

I've been drawing and writing an entry for a small comic contest at my school. I'm looking for 2 talented voice actors that can bring my comic to life, and maybe even win me first place! This project is extremely urgent, as the deadline is just 4 days away from the time of making this casting call.

The comic itself is 4-6 pages long (Length may be shortened because of time constraints.) So I'm not expecting a lot of takes or to spend much time on this. If you're looking for a small and (hopefully) stress free side-project to work on, you've come to the right place!

I'll lay down a few ground rules for applying:

  • 18+ only! These characters are in their mid 20's, and I'd like for their actors to be within that range.

  • No excessive background noise. Some static is fine, I'm not picky! But if it's so loud that I can't understand you, your audition will be denied.

  • Please have a means of communication outside of CCC. I'm running a pretty tight deadline, so having a quick way to contact you would be awesome. Discord preferred!

  • Change of Plans: Deadline Extended

So my silly self forgot to check the deadline. It's not the 26th but the 25th! That's far too little time for anyone to do voice lines. As such, I decided that I'm going to submit the comic on it's own and THEN publish the dubbed version!

Project Roles: Jack Sidney

Paid: Flat Rate 20 USD
Role assigned to: Isabella B. Hansen

An unhinged, messed up individual. Jack was convicted of patricide and rotted in prison for 5 years until she was kidnapped by The Great Day.

She's very childish, unserious, and extremely volatile.

Her voice can best be described as dark and fried. She can sound a bit goofy, but you'll need to have some range in terms of emotiveness. I'd say her normal tone of voice borders on that of the stereotypical stoner/surfer voice, but not to a huge degree.

She is intended to have a country accent, but it's not required.

Voice description:
  • female adult
  • southern (country american)
  • androgynous
  • adult
  • SCENE DESCRIPTION: Sidney looks over their shoulder to find a tall, lanky girl towering over them with a wide grin. [She speaks in a low tone. Playful, unsettlingingly so.] "Hey, bunkie."

  • This comic calls for some action! Give me a take of what you think Jack would sound like in a fight. (Throwing punches, screaming, dialogue, get creative!)

  • SCENE DESCRIPTION: Jack walks past Sidney. After having her ego hurt, she decides to try to clap back at them before she leaves. "Eternas doesn't need dirty traitors like you anyway." [Jack blows a raspberry at Sidney].

Role assigned to: Tarek Esaw

A disgruntled and exhausted medic. Sidney was thrown into prison for saving the life of an enemy soldier before being kidnapped by The Great Day

Sidney is a neurotic and cautious character. They are hyperaware of the people and things around them, much to their own detriment.

Sidney's voice is on the brighter side, but is very soft/mellow. They're a worrier, so panic is often very palpable in the way they speak.

Language:
  • english
Voice description:
  • adult
  • androgynous
  • neutral
  • "I'm no spy, just a medic." [They grow somber, their voice lowers.] At least, I used to be...

  • SCENE DESCRIPTION: In a state of panic, Sidney punches Jack after she surprises them. She hits the wall and slumps to the floor. Sidney rushes over to check on her. [Whispering to self.] "Oh, she's still breathing. Thank The Oceans." [Sidney kneels next to Jack to assess the damage.] "Are you alright? Can you stand?"
