Project Overview

(18+ auditioners only)

An upcoming sci-fantasy webomic about a different version of the Earth we know and love. One overrun by... Monsters?! But there's nothing to fear. Just dial your nearest agency for Hunters, and you'll be matched with the right help in no time.

The comic centers on Raine: a top Hunter who left the spotlight after the tragic murder of her best friend. Since then, Raine found herself spiralling into a loop of bad luck. But swore to find the Monster that took everything from her.

Now that you've read this far, hi! I'm looking for voice actors to voice-act the script of a few panels from my comic. I'm not strict with audio requirements, equipment, set-up, etc. Just please ensure that your microphone doesn't pick up background noise. Basically I'd like to hear you loud and clear.

-

Trigger warnings for the full comic: implied and explicit themes of su*cide, depression, internalized homophobia and abuse. While the script for this specific casting call is lighthearted and doesn't include those, I still felt the need to state this in case I need the emotional comic panels voiced as well.

I look forward to working with all you talented VAs. But kindly tread with caution before auditioning.

Hello, everybody! I've started browsing through auditions, but please don't be discouraged. I have other characters that need to be voiced too; I'll be posting them here soon when the time comes. I may also reach out to you for a character that you didn't audition as, but feel that your voice would fit them better.

    Thank you!

(The accent isn't required! It's just what I had in mind or preferred while making these characters.)

Formerly one of the top Hunters, Raine now survives on loans and low-pay gigs. While many lament that she burned out young, oddly enough... she doesn't seem to care. At least until her eventual return to The Hunt.

Best described as a walking paradox. Carefree and a little too lazy for her own good, but also wildly guilt-ridden.

Notes:

- This character is the MC! (The last person you’d want as an MC.) She’s gotten into so much trouble that it’s a miracle she’s still alive. Or maybe it’s the thrill of the danger that she’s after.

  • Yeah, yeah, it's good to see me. You can get my autograph after I'm done saving your asses. Deal?

  • Okay, I get it! I'm broke, jobless, a miserable-ass dropout, and a washed-up Hunter. Thanks a lot for the 'encouragement,' jerk.

  • Dude. If I die, tell whoever’s in charge that this was not worth the payout. And if I don't, well... tell them to double it.

Pronunciation: sin (as in, the noun sin)

Don't be fooled by this beauty and her layer of frills! XIN is a combat android designed to rid the world of Monsters. She carries herself with a bubbly disposition and never loses her trademark smile.

But underneath that lies a deep-seated cynicism toward the humans she was made to protect.

Notes:

- This character switches between several "modes" or personalities! Xin's vocal tone can go from a princess-like sweetness, cold and professional to downright humanly sarcastic.

- Not required to sound robotic all the time! Xin is quite emotive for a robot. If I had to describe her, she reminds me of Disney princesses.

  • Assault Unit: Xin 520, at your service. I am built to desist Monsters and assist Hunters. ...But y’know, you can just call me Xin! X-i-n. With an 'x'.

  • Not to worry, sweet pea! I don’t feel pain the way humans do. Which makes it much easier to decide who gets hurt.

  • By the way, Raine, I like watching you sleep. You drool a lot more than the average human, so I kept a stack of tissue boxes at your nightstand. You're welcome!

Dr. Seojun Shin

Paid: Flat Rate 15 USD

(While it would be nice if you knew some Korean, it isn't required!)

Dr. Seojun Shin is a renowned psychiatrist and the story’s primary antagonist. Brilliant, composed, but deeply unsettling, Seojun believes the world is broken... and that only he is capable of fixing it. As a result, there's a softness to him that doesn't feel "right".

In his eyes, Monsters are just a stain on society. Something to be erased for the greater good. But he doesn't quite align with Hunters either, so really, what does he want? And what is it about Seojun that ruffles Raine's feathers so much?

Notes:

- This character is the main antagonist! Despite his role, Seojun is portrayed as a calm, reassuring doctor who wants the best for his patients. He's known for treating children. Outside the ward and his office, he's a gentleman popular with the ladies.

- Tends to speak calmly or even too carefully. May sound sorrowful at times. But he turns cold when angry, not raising his voice and instead settling for sneers.

- Once backed into a corner, he acts out in paranoia and misery rather than rage. One of the reasons being that he's a sickly man, and combat has never been his strongest suit. Another being that he's mentally disturbed.

- For obvious reasons, the comic panels that Seojun is in are not lighthearted.

  • You're not in trouble, little one. I just need to help you fit more comfortably into the world. Here, why don't you have a seat and tell Doctor about your... Monster symptoms?

  • People say I play God, but they're sorely mistaken. God has abandoned His creations, left them to fend for themselves. I repair mine. Help them heal and flourish. After all, if there's nothing to fix... why should I continue to exist?

  • Your emotions cloud your judgment. Be thankful I spared you that burden. Or should I have let you destroy yourself again?
