Project Overview
Synopsis
Cloud Eaters follows the story of Dante, a young and bright eyed army recruit. In the wake of the Gehennian War, the entire world is plunged into chaos seemingly overnight. Dante and the rest of the Cloud Eater Corps navigate through a world steeped in violence, genocide and depravity—all while trying to be the best soldiers they can be.
Outline
Cloud Eaters is a close future speculative fiction project aiming to explore the consequences of romanticizing war. We intend to do this through the lens of Dante, a young man aspiring to fight for his country. After enlisting, he is drafted into the Cloud Eater Corps, a small group of seven chosen soldiers tasked with offering aid to larger battalions. Their first task is to deliver medical aid and provide recon for one of these battalions. Only then do they realize the horrors of what they’ve signed themselves up for. Machinery that was once glorified by their peers is used against them as they’re forced to grapple with their new reality, all the while asking themselves how they could’ve been so wrong about what war really looked like.
