Hello, and welcome to the casting call for my upcoming animated series, City of Lost!
My name is Danyelle (Moonsy) Bryant, and I have always wanted to try my hand at show creation. This series is very dear to my heart, so I hope you would like to audition!
THE STORY
City of Lost (Name WIP) is an action adventure anime inspired by shows such as My Hero Academia. In the region of Ahalte, there are 3 kingdoms (currently referenced as Blue, Pink, and Purple, but those names will soon be changed). This show follows 4 teenagers; Princess Lirio of Purple, Princess Cece of Pink, Prince Oath of Pink, and the commoner Eiada in their preparation for “The Choosing”, a multi-round battle that ensures their chance to get into a Hero Training School. Everything is going fine until a mysterious woman, Cacophony (real name Dakota), is captured, and Queen Flora is simultaneously kidnapped. The kids experience normal teenager antics such as dating drama and homework, but also life or death situations like training for the incoming war initiated by the Kingdom of Death.
I am looking for talented and committed voice actors and animators to bring my writing to life. Ideally, I would prefer you to have a genuine interest in the project so that the enthusiasm will improve our overall performance.
DISCLAIMER
Although I would personally rate City of Lost PG, there are mentions of/characters that participate in self harm, suicide, child abuse, etc. If you find this uncomfortable, I understand if you won't audition. I'll have more casting calls in the future!
VOICE ACTORS RULES/REQUIREMENTS
Please be over the age of 11 and no older than the age of 16. This is for the safety, comfort, and professionalism of all of our cast and crew. Some exceptions will be made if there is talent we feel is lacking with the people in this age range.
Beginner voice actors are welcomed, but please have a professional mindset and at least a bit of theatre experience.
Please have decent mic quality. It doesn’t have to be expensive or over the top, just clear enough with little background noise .
During the auditions, try to provide multiple takes of the same line with different expression/range. The expressions in the parentheses are merely recommendations, but I’d be glad to see what you can convey.
We will be communicating through email & CCC, so please include your email in the description of your audition and check back often if you’re cast.

The deadline for all auditions/applications will be May 1st, and casting will be announced May 10th. More roles will be added throughout the month of March.

Princess Solandis is the first half of the character Cece. Solandis is very calm, collected, and gullible. Unlike her sister, she is incredibly forgiving and doesn't put up a fight even when she knows she should. She is secretly very controlling of her sister, almost abusive (but no one knows that until later in the season). Solandis is the more liked side of Cece for her neat and kind demeanor. She doesn't understand sarcasm and is more ditsy then most.
I listed Solandis as a supporting character because she herself does not have many lines, but whoever will play Cece has the most of her lines. If you'd like to play a version of this character, just with more lines, please audition for the character Princess Cece.
I imagine her voice to be high/soprano, slightly monotone, content, but kind and inviting as well. It should have a feeling of sureness and stability. Since she is a part of a main character, there will be certain episodes where she will have to sing. Because of that, please be able to at least carry a tune.

I imagine him with a deep, raspy voice, but try I'd also like to see what you can convey!

I'm thinking that there will be 3-5 people filling this role. Please audition with a storyboard you have created, preferably a fight scene or something else with action. Be able to convey emotion and match up your art to the lines as well as possible. This is an important role, so I expect anyone submitting an application to be able to take it seriously and communicate and adjust quickly.

Well, it’s always the pretty ones that are the most venomous. (Cackles and coughs something up, then spits)
Oath is an impulsive, damaged boy with extreme PTSD and frequent panic attacks. He is very insecure about not be able to use his powers as well as everyone else and masks this with his rude demeanor. He was saved from his unsafe Homelife when he was 11, and was officially adopted by the King and Queen of the pink kingdom when he was 12. Princess Cece has been his childhood friend and since he was 9, so he is very protective of her. He is slightly racist and heavily classist, but throughout the series he will deal with these issues.
I imagine him having a medium voice that cracks at some places. Please remember, this character is a male 8th grader, so don't audition with an overly adult voice.

THE WORLD BUILDERS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ROLE AS OF NOW. I ran into a roadblock in the script, and I now need a World Builder WITHIN THE WEEK!! The world builders are basically writers. They will be the people who help in creating different species, realms, and biomes, armies, etc in the series. Have some prior knowledge about royalty. Please audition with a description of a fantasy world, animal, army, or something else that you have created!

Frost is Eiada's love interest throughout the series! He is the youngest brother out of Mud and Spike, but is the tallest. He doesn't like to participate in his brothers' antics, but is always with them to make sure they don't do anything too stupid. He is moderately athletic and gets average grades. He has daddy issues and water powers like Eiada. He's pretty quiet but always alert. His brothers and most girls call him "boring", but he just focuses on the more important things in life.
Please remember that this is an 8th grade boy, so do not audition with an overly adult voice.

Princess Sage is the second half of the character Princess Cece. Sage is polar opposite of her sister: sarcastic, loud, and not afraid to speak her mind. She comes off as a generally angry and intimidating person, and specifically hates to wear long ballroom dresses (This will be important later on ;) ). Sage could be labeled as a tsundere. She is athletic and impulsive. Unknown to many, she is very insecure (which is why she comes off so mean). She also protects her sister with her life, for she knows that no matter how hard she tries, Solandis will be the next queen.
I listed Sage as a supporting character because she herself does not have many lines, but whoever will play Cece has the most of her lines. If you'd like to play a version of this character, just with more lines, please audition for the character Princess Cece.
I imagine Sage with a medium/alto voice that is loud and masks insecurity. Since she is a part of a main character (and becomes main later on), please be able to at least carry a tune.

Daisha is the future Captain of the royal guard. She takes her job very seriously, and is great at what she does. She is the mentor to Milo and Oath, and loves the kids as if they were her own. She's moderately formal, and loves to tease people. Although it is not blatantly said, it is hinted that she's a part of the LGBTQ+ community.
I imagine her with a strong, medium toned voice, but try what you think might fit her best.

Milo is Daisha's right hand man. He's always asking her on dates, but she isn't ever interested. Although he seems like a major jerk at times, he will do anything to save the people around him. He is very noble and smart, but is also very stubborn.
I imagine Milo with any kind of European accent, but it isn't necessary.
{Talking about Cacophony, directed towards self}
(Concerned)

Prince Phantom (The Man With No Face) is Cacophony's fiancé and "stalker", and the next in line to the Kingdom of Death's throne. He has ghostly powers which consist of creating portals, hearing the dead, and talking to people in their dreams. He is very determined, driven, and is willing to do anything to protect his family. He is constantly trying to prove his worth to his mother, Queen Adaranth. He is a people pleaser and insecure since his mother has always manipulated and mentally abused him. He has never taken a life (personally), and allows his ruthless brother, Shadow, "duke" rights.
I don't have a set voice that I imagine for Phantom, so try whatever you want!

Bring Cacophony to the top of Mt. Aterea by 8pm tomorrow night. She is not one of you.

Mud is Frost's and Spike's older brother and Princess Cece's ex boyfriend. They broke up because Sage thought the whole thing was stupid and didn't like that he was a bully. Mud is still really obsessed with the princess. He is rude, hotheaded, and loves to provoke people, especially Oath. He has a small, barely noticeable crush on Princess Kelsi but would never admit it.
I imagine him acting like Bakugou, so use whatever voice you deem appropriate for your audition!

Opal (Girl)/Topaz (Boy) Lux is one of my personal favorites. The character was originally a girl, but I'm open to trying out different things! Lux is a child prodigy who graduated from school at the age of 9. They are very conceited, has a loud laugh, are borderline evil, and dangerously fun. Most times Lazy, Lux brings that comic relief to this story. They live with their parents in their secluded woodland mushroom house. They work under their dad (Dr. Lux), and their dream is to be a technician for the royal guard.
If the person cast for this character is a girl, the name will be Opal. If the person cast for this character is a boy, the name will be Topaz. If the person cast is NB, the name can be either. I imagine Opal/Topaz Lux with a nasally, slightly annoying high pitched voice, but try anything you'd like!

Two weeks? Sir, with all due respect, I-
Kelsey is the cousin of Princess Lirio. Her official title is of course Princess Kelsey, but no one calls her that besides palace workers. Kelsey is very bratty and self-centered. Back handed compliments are her favorite form of speech. She is considered a sword fighter, although her sword is in the form of a boomerang. She also has the power of rumor, so she has to wear power blockers during school hours. Kelsey is great at picking locks and stealing. Her best friend/crush is Mud, and she is very open about her feelings and always trying to get him to kiss her. Kelsey is rude to Lirio because of the beef their parents have.
I listed Kelsey as minor because, even though she is a character with a lot of lines, her actions don't effect the story. I imagine her with a higher pitched voice or medium. She's really annoying, so if you could incorporate that into her voice, that would be great.

Oasis is Eiada's adult brother. He is very laid back and chill, and Eiada frequently goes to him for advice.

The headmistress is Mud, Spike, and Frost's mom, and the headmistress of the middle school. Her powers are reading minds and intentions. She is very professional and put together. Stumbling over her words is a very rare occurrence.
I imagine that she talks moderately fast and has a higher pitched voice. Think "Amunet Black" from the flash.

My best scholars, I am sad to say that there has been a... mysterious disturbance on the realm of the Pink Kingdom. It is a dire situation, and a royal emergency.
Lirio is the princess of the Purple Kingdom. She is a (usually) serious person and has great manners. She is kind, understanding, and collected when conflict strikes. She is a little bit OCD and tries to get someone else's advice before advancing with a mission (this person is usually Eiada, her friend, or Kylie, her maid). She becomes impulsive when a loved one is in danger or is highly offended, but most of the time she keeps her royal composure. This is the only main character who doesn't have powers, but instead she is a sword fighter.
The tone of voice I would imagine for her is medium/alto. Since she is a lead, there will be a few episodes where she has to sing. Because of this, please be able to at least carry a tune.

Where is Queen Flora?
This character is slightly confusing for anyone who hasn't seen Steven Universe. Cherry Cake (Or Cece) is a merge of Princesses Solandis and Sage. She is adventurous, sweet, and always looking for new opportunities. When it comes to people being mean to her or her friends, she has mixed reactions (due to being a merge of two very different people). Sometimes she tells people she is bipolar so she doesn't have to explain her situation. Cece's name was decided by Solandis and Sage when they were really young by combining their two favorite things; Cherry and Cake. That's why Cherry Cake goes by Cece now that she's getting older. Cece is more like Solandis in many ways, but sometimes Sage can't contain herself and so outbursts happen.
I imagine her with a soprano or alto voice, but please try whatever you would like! Since she is a main character, she will have to sing at some points in the series. Because of this, please be able to at least carry a tune.

Eiada is the only main character who is a commoner. She is very kind and forgiving, and believes greatly in second chances. She's one of the shortest characters, measuring to 5'0, but is one of the top students in her class. She has water bending powers and is absolutely terrible at stealth. Being clumsy, she has learned to laugh at her mistakes and embrace them. Her parents and brother are overseas for most of the season, so she lives with her grandma, Esther Padmore, at their family restaurant called "Padmore Sweet Shop". Eiada is the most normal and chill character of the series. She doesn't get upset when things don't go as planned, and can quickly move and make secondary plans under pressure. She doesn't have many insecurities, and her known weakness is extreme heat. She doesn't get overwhelmed easily, but when she does, the rest of the team basically looses it. Eiada is very straightforward when it comes to what she wants, and is awesome at giving advice.
Since Eiada is a main character there will be some episodes where she has to sing. Because of this, please at least be able to carry a tune.

King Blue is the notorious and feared King of the Blue Kingdom (Obviously..). He is very serious and rarely smiles. He is bitter and according to records, he has never been married.
I imagine him with a VERY deep voice, but try whatever you'd like!

Queen Flora is the famous and loved queen of the Purple Kingdom. She doesn't have time for fun since she's virtually running a kingdom alone, and she frequently prioritizes work over family. She is more sensitive and understanding than other characters, and is easily offended. Queen Flora is very protective of her daughter, Lirio, and doesn't understand why she is, to her perspective, rebellious.
I imagine her with a voice on the deeper side, but I'd be glad to see what you can do.
