Chester and The Donkey Kong

Project Overview

Chester and The Donkey Kong is the next MAJOR Chester and The Others Video! After the success of Chester and The WarioWare Moving Right Along it had to be obvious that a similar video would be done like this, but with another major video game character!

(Also there is a very familiar song in this video as well, doesn't require any singing talent of course, just know how to speak to the rhythm of the song)

RULES AND REQUIREMENTS

1. 16+ Required

2. You MUST have a good mic, or good sound quality. No background noise, and no crappy audio. Make it clean and nice to listen to. Recommended mics are USB Mics, Blue Yeti, or any good sounding mic. Reccomended softwares are Audacity, Adobe Audition, or whatever works best for you to bring in the best quality possible.

3. Audition in AAABBBCCC format (if you don't know that term it basically means 3 takes per line), and it's also recommended to do that if you get cast as well so that way you could avoid potential pickups, and make it easier for me to choose which lines to use for the product. By the way, also should have said this before but while mp3 files are nice, wav files are recommended as they are cleaner.

4. Discord is recommended as that's much easier to chat and send lines, but email is also available but only for project purposes (obviously). If you want a more casual way of sending lines discord is the way to go, if you want to remain professional but have less of the chatty side email is the way to go, or you can use both as long as I get my lines that's all I care about.

5. Make sure you have a clean schedule. Of course things pop up and that's inevitable, but only audition if you are able to work with a deadline. I'll make the deadlines as realistic as possible I wont be like "Ok, lines due tomorrow" once you're cast I'm not like that, but remember that your deadline, is your deadline, is your deadline.

6. While this isn't required per se, but it's best to watch some videos on Pierce Puppets Productions so you can understand what the story is and get a better understanding of the characters, as well as knowing who the characters from the games are. If you play the games, thats great, if you watch the games, thats great, just know the source material.

7. (If you get cast) Always ask questions when necessary. If something is unclear, or you need more in depth information on, well come back and get an answer. I'm willing to answer whatever question you may have so don't be afraid to ask.

8. Have fun with it! This is mean to be wacky and fun, so you should do the same, be wacky, and have fun!

Dixie Kong! You know her, the hair swinging girlfriend of Diddy Kong! But how would she sound? You can either make her sound like she does in the games, or have your own spin on the character. She should be high-pitched and have a bit of sass to her, but she's always up for adventure! Should be recorded in AAABBBCCC Format

  • Hey DK! You’re forgetting someone!

  • Hey Dk! Are we going to play with this thing or what?

Cranky Kong, you know him. The bad mouthing, old but wise showoff and the grandfather of Donkey Kong. He should sound how he does in the games or put your own spin on him. He should sound old, but... well cranky. Make the voice a bit gravely but have a strong way if talking, especially when you're angry. In other words, don't use The Mario Movie as your source (trust me, bad idea)

  • You two buffoons have 5 seconds to explain to me why you have this ridiculous poster OUTSIDE MY HOUSE!

  • I already get enough flack for having the worst voice in The Mario Movie so why do you think I need this cursed shot of my character from the movie outside my building?

  • You think this is an achievement? I made an entire video like this in one take, and it took me less than an hour!

Krusha, you know him. The giant muscular dim witted kremling who's K Rool's second in command. He should sound like he does in the DK Tv Show. He may be a bit dim witted but he's always trying his best at making the King proud, even if he fails at it at times

Voice description:

  • Hmm, maybe we should give him a chance guys. It’s not like we did anything to stop Donkey Kong for a while now anyways

  • Uh fellas, I think that’s our cue to pop out

  • Thu- That toy belongs to the king

Klump, you know him. The big army kremling who is short tempered but very tough and always here to make the king proud. He should sound how he does in the DK Tv show, give him a very strong voice when he yells and has that amount of gravel that he does in the show. Make him get angry at every tiny thing possible.

  • WE’VE BEEN AT THIS GAME FOR 5 HOURS AND YOU HAVEN’T LEARNED ONE NEW CONTROL, YOU GOT THE BODY OF THE ROCK BUT A BRAIN OF A PEBBLE AND EVEN THAT'S BEING GENEROUS!

  • WHY SHOULD I CARE? EVERYONE’S GETTING INSULTED, ME INCLUDED! I aint no softie.

Candy Kong, you know her. The tall girlfriend of DK and childhood sweetheart. She should have a voice deeper than Dixies and have a bit of a flirty side to her, but she's really has a heart of helping DK in all of his adventures.

  • Missed me?

  • That’s what I thought too, but when I received the message from Squawks that you needed some time with ol Candy, I knew I couldn’t be gone for much longer.

  • Or better yet, we could play one of my instruments, I hear you've been practicing your bongo skills.
