Project Overview
I’m seeking people to help bring my characters to life in my upcoming animated short film. Cat Scratch. This project is part of my senior thesis for school, where I’m working towards creating a meaningful positive impact on my community.
Cat Scratch explores the impact of domestic violence and aims to show that it can happen to anyone, regardless of their background. Your voices will be a key part of conveying the emotional depth and authenticity of the characters, guaranteeing that this project connects with audiences deeply.
This animated short film tells the story of Florah, a young woman reflecting on her time with Louis, her abusive boyfriend. Through her eyes, we explore the emotional toll of their relationship and how it deeply impacted her life

She's around 19 and 21. She’s a native girl who recently moved to a small college town to escape home and pursue her passion for music and art. Her voice is soft and raspy with a warm inviting undertone. As the story progresses, there's a subtle tinge of sweetness with a mix of sadness.

(tentative) No, I don’t need you to come over. Really.
(softer/Nostalgic) I met him at a concert a year or two ago. Back in the fall…
He’s around 20 and he’s a Hispanic singer for a popular local band in his hometown. His voice is Mellow and dry with a bit of a monotone to his delivery which adds to his character’s cynical nature. Think of Alex from MTV downtown.

(Casual/friendly) Cool, Maybe you and I should hang out sometime... I mean, I'm trying to find a guitarist so I can focus on vocals. If you want to of course.
(annoyed/Jealous) I mean, who does he think he is? Asking to come over. I mean did you see the way he was looking at you? Unbelievable.
(shocked at himself/nervous) Oh my god- are you okay? I'm sorry, I'm sorry honey I didn't mean to-
Not much is known about her but when she speaks she sounds concerned with a mix of relief. In my head, she sounds like an older Nani from Lilo and Stich.

She is a Hispanic woman who lives in a woman’s shelter with her kids for the time being along with two other ladies. She has a low sassy voice and often sounds annoyed.

WOMAN ONE (Annoyed/Kind of Sassy) I can't believe I put up with that for so long. He's like a vampire I swear. Always sucking the Life out of you.
(Confused) Well, what are you doing here? I thought you were one of the other ladies' daughters.
She is an older woman with a sassy raspy voice. There's not much to know about her despite the fact she lives in a Woman’s Shelter by herself.

"I’m looking for a talented musician to create background music for my animated short film, as well as a short indie rock song (about a minute or less in length). The music should complement the tone and emotions of the story. I’ll provide the script, and I’d love for you to bring your creativity to the project and have fun with it.

I am looking for a Storyboard Artist to help bring the narrative of my animated short to life. I'm working on a film called CatScratch and it's about a girl named Florah telling her story about DV.
