Palmwood Skies: Added Roles Needed: Season 1
Project Overview
Welcome to the Palmwood Skies casting call #2! What's Palmwood Skies you might ask? Palmwood Skies consists of ten episodes in its first season, which follow the lives of Jaiden Jones and Arden Young, two best friends, and their adventures through middle school. Watch as they meet new friends, face challenges and strengthen their friendship further. Jaiden, is wacky and hilarious. She enjoys being the center of attention and enjoys cracking jokes even more. Arden Young is her polar opposite. He enjoys inventing things and coding. Together they make the perfect unstoppable team! Palmwood Skies takes places in a fictional town called, you guessed it, Palmwood Skies! This town is full of secrets and surprises just waiting to be discovered!
This fantastic series needs your help! We are looking for more voice actors, animators, storyboarders, and so much more to join our team! We're looking for hardworking and dedicated artists to make this project happen!
Some things to know before applying/auditioning:
1. You must be at least 15 years of age to apply/audition for this project. Please do not audition if you are younger. If it is found out after you are cast, you will be terminated from the project and any audition you send in for any projects we do in the future will be rejected without listening.
2. This, at least for the moment, is not a paid project. If this series ever makes enough money for everyone to be paid however, they will be.
3. We currently have plans to pitch this show to a streaming service such as Netflix or Hulu, etc. Therefore we are trying to make this series as of quality as we can. Please keep this in mind when applying.
4. We are in need of animators at the most. We currently have three, and I'd like to reach at least 5. If we can get more, we'll take as many as we can get!

Avery Cook is a rebel. Her voice is decently medium pitched and she speaks clearly. She doesn't speak to fast nor too slow. Shes smart, and talks educated. Her character is strong and resourceful. Shes confident and mature.

Daylight is the owner of a dying petshop in Palmwood Town. He is often described by our cast and crew as being similar to Santa Clause. He's very cheerful. even when things aren't going his way. He is an important character in episode 1, then occasionally returns in future episodes as the plot demands for him. Mr Daylight is about 76 years old, and he doesn't look a day over 100. In other words he's rather old. He looks old. Sounds old. You get the jist. His voice is a bit deep, but not too much. He should have a certain charm to his voice that makes people feel warm and safe (that's very important for his character)

You see, kids. When big stores open around smaller ones, it makes it harder for the smaller ones to compete
We're looking for people to voice students as well as random characters our leads meet along their journey. If you have a wacky voice or a voice you would like to give to an extra or background character, go ahead and audition! We aren't looking for any kind of specific voice and we will take as many actors as we like for these roles! If you want to audition with a number of normal and wacky voices, go ahead!

As animator you will work with your team and your director to fully animate each episode. Each episode is roughly 15-20 minutes long. We are hoping to assign at least 2 people to work on each one. At the moment we have three animators, we are hoping to gain at least two more, although we will happily take more.

We currently have five character designers. We are looking for at least one more, although we will gladly take more. The style is rather cartoony so we are looking for people with experience with that kind of art genre.

The assistant director will be tasked with making sure that every other director (ex. Art, Writing, etc) keep on top of their assignments and their workers. They are also in charge of time managing, as well as keeping track of assignments that are still in need of finishing. Please submit a typed google doc of your experience directing as well as how you will help manage these.

As Scenic Designer you will be tasked with designing the backgrounds for the animation. This includes designing classrooms, backyards and city streets. The style is cartoon, so we are looking for people who have experience drawing in that genre.

As a storyboarder you will be tasked with taking your director's vision of the scripts and making a rough animatic to demonstrate what the animation will look like. We do this scene by scene. You must be able to follow the cartoonish art style we use for the show, which you will be trained to follow. For your audition, please submit an animatic you've made before.

Reuben or "Ruby" is Corbin's big brother. He is currently a freshman in Heaven Town, a town based off our world's New York City. He's known as "Corbin's cooler older brother" and he didn't get that name for nothing. He's very chill and his voice adds to it. He's relaxed and down to earth and honestly a genuinely great guy. He cares for his brother deeply and has sacrificed a lot for his happiness. Even with all that he doesn't blame anyone, but himself. he wants to push harder so his brother can have a better life than their parents. His voice isn't too deep. It's more medium ranged. His voice is soothing and calm as well.
Haha, yeah. I left home after middle school. Moved here to live with my uncle, hoping to get a better start. Now I sell corn dogs!
