About the Project
Canela & Piloncillo is an original illustrated series created by Mexican illustrator and author Maita San.
"Home Camping" is the first storybook of the series. A heartwarming story about imagination and curiosity. It follows two siblings as they talk, play, and let their imaginations run wild together.
This casting is for the official English voice of the series' first animated storybook on YouTube, the original version being in spanish. (We already have a spanish voice actress and are currently working on the animation).
The selected actress will narrate the story while also performing the voices of Canela and Piloncillo.
About the Recording
The finished narration is approximately 13 minutes long. A complete English script will be provided. It has a word count of 2015 words.
Although the script has already been translated, we welcome small wording/phrasing suggestions whenever a sentence could sound more natural to a native English-speaking audience. Our goal is for the story to feel as though it had originally been written in English.
Minor corrections or retakes resulting from pronunciation, pacing, or script adjustments are expected as part of the project.

• Good-quality recording equipment with minimal background noise

Payment
This is a paid independent project.
Payment: USD 60 via PayPal for the voice-over performance.
An additional payment (up to USD 20 total) will be offered if you also help refine the script by suggesting natural wording or small edits to improve the English adaptation.
50% will be paid before recording begins, and the remaining 50% will be paid upon delivery and approval of the final recordings.
Future Collaboration
We're not simply looking for a narrator for one video.
Our hope is to find the actress who will become the official English voice of Canela & Piloncillo as the series continues to grow with new stories and future projects.

Voice Actor
We are looking for a warm and expressive native English-speaking voice actress to become the official English voice of Canela & Piloncillo, an independent illustrated storybook series.
The role includes narrating the story and performing the voices of two young children (one girl and one boy). We're looking for a natural, heartfelt performance rather than exaggerated cartoon voices.
The selected actress will also be welcome to suggest small wording adjustments to help the English script sound as natural as possible.
This is a paid independent project with the possibility of future collaborations as the series grows.

Narrator: He also imagined how much he would like to fly a plane, but one without windows, because he believed clouds were made of cotton candy, and that way he could eat as many as he wanted.
Boy: I would dine at the best restaurants in the city, and I would order a tasting of juices of all possible flavors, to enjoy them one by one. So when the other kids at school ask me for an opinion on those delicious flavors, I'll already be an expert.
Girl: Well, you know? Once, when Mom was out of the house, I heard the ice cream truck's music playing, and when I looked out the window, I saw it was all alone. So, I sneaked out and started swimming in ice creams of all flavors and colors.
