A slice of life Pokémon fan webcomic! (a passion project...)

I had an idea (mostly from a pinterest post I saw) about the Scorbunny evolutionary line and how perfect of a Pokémon it is for a family like dynamic!

It follows an every day-to-day like story, looking at different chaotic changes in what a family could be with Pokémon of the same line. They can even talk. (Whaaattt???) <- (We'll get to that LOL)

📌 Project Overview:
Set in a cozy cabin on the edge of a lively village, this project follows a caring Cinderace who raises her two energetic sons: A cool but awkward Raboot and a hyperactive Scorbunny- while their traveling Trainer is away during the day. Given total freedom to live like a real family, they tackle daily life, village trips, and growing up together.

- Premise: Pure, wholesome slice-of-life. Low stakes, high charm. The comedy comes from language barriers, sibling rivalry, and accidental Fire-type mishaps, balanced with genuine emotional growth.

- Episode lengths: Designed for 30 to 45 panels per comic, which translates to roughly 3 to 5 minutes per voice-acted comic dub.

- Production Pipeline: Script ➔ Voice Acting ➔ Storyboard & Layout ➔ Finalize. (Note to VAs: Because the storyboard and layout come after the voice acting: Your performance will directly drive how the visuals will look. So be as expressive and emotional as you can be and all that good junk.)

🏡 Setting the Scene

- The Cabin: Features a warm wooden interior with a cozy loft area, a big kitchen, and a signature massive floor-to-ceiling glass wall that slides wide open, giving the whole comic a bright, open feel. Human and Pokémon-sized furniture blend together, making it feel truly lived-in.

- The Backyard: A large open lawn for games, bordered by trees. It features a storage shed packed with random props (balls, cones, old training gear, blankets, festival decorations, a rollable stage) that fuel endless creative ideas throughout.

- The Village (rarer but still prominent): A vibrant outdoor market town that shifts with the seasons. Filled with friendly people and Pokémon living side-by-side, it is easily accessible via a scenic forest path.

- 🎭 Character Breakdowns & Voice Direction

Cinderace: The Mother of the two boys and an English-speaking Pokémon. Originally found scouring a forest, desperate for survival. She was found by a trainer (Kairo) with her and an egg to her side. She has been living with him for 3 years now ever since that day. She can fluently (or atleast close to fluently) speak English because of the many places her trainer has brought her with.

- Personality: Athletic, nurturing, and energetic. She is fantastic at soccer, loves cooking over open flames, and keeps the boys in line while still joining in on the fun. She is the emotional anchor of the family and handles all the dealings with local villagers.

- Voice Direction: Speaks fluently and naturally. A charming, warm, caring, and slightly teasing "mom" tone. She is quick on her feet and highly capable.

Raboot: A teen like Pokemon, and the "first born". He was hatched from the egg she carried and had been living with them for a year by now. He knows how to speak from his mother.

- Personality: Has the mental age of a 10-12 year old. He tries incredibly hard to act cool, mature, and independent, but still needs his mom when push comes to shove. He loves striking dramatic poses, practicing things in secret, and pretending he doesn't care.

- Voice Direction: Grumbly and reluctant. Uses short, mumbled phrases. His attempts to sound tough often lead to funny misunderstandings.

Scorbunny: A child-like Pokémon with big dreams. He was born only a few months ago from a nursery that Cinderace willingly went on her own. He's sort of entitled but has the spirit to keep going.

- Personality: Mentally around 4 to 5 years old. Purely of energy. He has absolutely no filter and zero concept of waiting his turn. Sometimes even having no sense of basic danger. He launches into everything headfirst.

- Voice Direction: Very loud, contagious, and highly enthusiastic. Speaks in broken, excited bursts (e.g., "Kick ball!! Now!! Scorbun fast!!").

Kairo: The trainer that keeps them all together. He lives in a cabin but is always out exploring by the early morning. He travels a lot - leaving the formal educational life behind him. He returns by evening to see them once more, completely desensitized to their antics.

- Personality: 19 years old, easygoing, usually wearing hoodies and sneakers. He treats his Pokémon like family rather than battle units. He gives them complete freedom during the day while he goes out exploring and brings back souvenirs for them.

- Voice Direction: Laid-back, warm, and friendly.

📖 What to Expect: Episode Structure

- The Daily Story: The core of the episode while Kairo is gone.
- The Evening Wrap up: Kairo returns for a cozy, quiet evening with the family and the story ends there.
