Bye Bye Podcast - Casting Voice Actors
Project Overview
Bye Bye is a new fictitious podcast following the lives of six main characters through phone calls. Set in modern-day America, the cast is full of quirky individuals who will struggle to survive in a changing world.
I don't want to give too much of the plot away, but it will start out with the older teens' regular lives and slowly delve into the problems that they will encounter, and just a warning: it will get dark.
The main six characters include Callie, a regular girl with high ambitions; Amanda, Callie's best friend; Max, a gender-ambiguous friendly face; Demetrius, a passionate boy who always has something to be angry about; Charlotte, a cheerful girl who also happens to be a famous pop singer; and Wade, a somewhat shy boy who just wants what's best for everyone.
For Voice Actors:
- Have a decent mic! It doesn't have to be perfect, but I ask that your voice be clear.
- Unfortunately this is not a paid position. If at some point down the road we do end up making any money, it will likely be split evenly between us all.
- I will put my vision for the character's voices in their description, but please feel free to go against what I suggest! I might hear your voice and decide that it's better than what I envisioned!
- Females can audition for male roles and vice versa, but I'd prefer that the voices fit the gender of the characters.
That's it, have fun auditioning!!

I'm extremely pleased with the auditions and response to this project! As it is, I could easily cast each character right now and be more than happy with the result, but because there has been expressed interest by some who have not yet auditioned, I'm keeping auditions open at least until those who have said that they will audition have submitted an audition! (I hope that made sense... I'm very tired.) The deadline was originally set halfway through September, but seeing as we already have some really outstanding auditions (i.e. all of them) it's already going to be a really difficult decision! I also forgot to mention, all communication with this project will be through Discord, so if you have auditioned and you don't have Discord, I highly recommend you get it! If anyone wants to message me privately about this project please reach out there, my id is icacchi#6711 ! Again, thank you to everyone who has auditioned or who has expressed interest in this project, I'm working on scripts right now and I'm very excited to see where this goes! Love you all!!
Callie is arguably the leader of the group, she comes off as a sweet, friendly, caring, generous girl, but she is hiding something much darker inside.
I will be voicing Callie, which is why I have not put any audition lines for her.
*Say something you think would fit*
Amanda is Callie's best friend. She is loyal to her friends and has a big heart. She tends to be clueless at times, though she's not unintelligent, and she's basically the human version of the :o face.
I imagine Amanda's voice being soft and sweet, but not necessarily high pitched. I have many different possibilities/ideas for what her voice would sound like, so just do what you think sounds right!
"Happy birthday Callie! What kind of cake would you like for the party? Oh, wait, no, I'll make it a surprise!"
"Sometimes I wonder what love feels like..."
Max is completrly androgynous/gender-ambiguous. They use they/them pronouns and when asked about their gender they just laugh. They're very friendly and nice, and, to be honest, they're the biggest cuddler this side of the Mississippi. They're extremely loyal and would die for their friends.
For Max's voice, I would definitely prefer someone with a more androgynous voice, though if I had to choose between it being more feminine or more masculine, I would say feminine.
"Why would anyone want to die? Life is the greatest gift any of us have ever received!"
"Hey, is it okay if I come over? My house is.... not the best place for me right now."
Demetrius, or Dem for short, is an angry boy. Or rather, he has a lot od strong emotions that he tends to... exclusively show through anger. He's passionate and though he doesn't always show it, he cares a lot about his friends. He had a rough childhood and has learned to solve problems through violence, but inside he really just wants to do the right thing.
For Demetrius's voice, I'd prefer a relatively deep voice. Either rough or smooth, it could really go either way, but it needs to show emotion.
"Stop lying! I know I'm young, but I'm not an idiot. I can smell a liar from a smile away."
"I hope you die a slow, painful death."
Charlotte is like the little sister of the group. She's naïve and tends to need protecting, and she's one of the sweetest, kindest people you'll ever meet. She has the voice of an angel and has become a well-known pop singer. However, this hasn't changed her good nature and she just genuinely wants to help people with her upbeat music.
For Charlotte's voice, it must be high-pitched and cutesy. Not to the point where it's annoying, but enough that it reflects her personality and appearance. I would prefer her to have an English accent, but like all the characters, any accent is fine.
"Hey everyone! I want to see you all smile!"
"W-What? How could you... How could you say something like that to me?"
Wade is my personal favorite, not going to lie. He's a bit on the shy side and tends to be more of a listener than a talker, but he's still very sweet and friendly. He worries a bit more than he probably should (and likely has an anxiety disorder, based on his panic attacks), but when he's with his friends is when he feels safest, though being alone is where he feels most comfortable.
My vision for Wade's voice is somewhat specific, but I'm willing to consider any kind of voice. I'm thinking he would have a more higher pitched voice for a guy, but still obviously male. I want his voice to be very ordinary, however in my vision he has a (slight or heavy) Irish accent. Of course I'm willing to consider any accent, but it is a preference of mine.
"Um... Excuse me? I think you're sitting in my seat."
"Could you please just leave me alone? I'm not having a very good day."
