Book Cover (Artist Needed)
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Hey there! To cut to the chase, this is a small project for anybody who is looking to make a quick buck (I know it looks like a lot, but I'm just a very methodical person and like to give a lot of details). I am willing to pay $20 for an artist to design a cover for my book. It's a fictional book that will be written on a website (www.Wattpad.com). I already have it all planned out and in the works as far as writing it goes, so it's guaranteed to be published once it's 100% complete. The size required is 512x800 pixels. Digital art is preferred here. It does not matter to me which software you use to draw/design.
BENEFITS
I suppose you're wondering what's in it for you. Well, here's a rundown.
- The $20 agreed upon casting.
- Recognition as an artist (you will of course be credited and I will be able to link your primary profile so others can check out your art, whether that's Instragram or deviantART or some other source).
- It shouldn't take a long time. I'm no artist, which is why I'm seeking help, but it shouldn't take very long for a cover to be made (perhaps a couple of days at most).
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR TO BE ON THE COVER
I would like for the cover of the book to include an image of the main character somehow, no matter what (a description is below and I know what she sounds like, but no, it's not Anime or manga). It must also include the title of the book and my name. If possible, I'd like my name to go towards the bottom of the book cover and the title to be more up top or in the middle, but of course not blocking out the main character's face (transparency is fine).
Book Title: Adoressian Soldier
Author Name: Charisma Kozlowski
Main Character Description
- female (she/her)
- pale white skin (kind of how Snow White's is perceived as)
- bluebell blue hair (her hair is short and comes down to just above her shoulders)
- violet-purple eyes (more on the darker side as far as shades are concerned)
- slim (not anorexic, she has a bit of curve, but ultimately is a string bean)
- royal guard uniform (in the book described as wearing a black jacket, navy blue blouse, black breeches, and dark brown boots - she's also got a rapier on her person most times if you'd like to include that)
I'm not looking for a cartoonish art style here, but also not one that's too realistic (though if realistic is all you can do, that's perfectly fine). Aside from the main character, my name, and the title being a must-have on it, be as creative as you want with the cover.
HOW TO AUDITION
You may either submit art pieces you've already created or create a new piece resembling what I requested (a draft or sketch, more or less). I will review your artwork and make my choice based on what I feel will best fit my book. All auditions are due December 6, 2021 at 12pm EST. I will consider my decision after that point and promptly message you here on CastingCallClub for further progression (to know if you'd like to move business to Discord or keep it here on the CCC website).
SYNOPSIS OF THE BOOK
I'm including this so you get an idea of what I'm looking for and to inspire you when making up the cover.
Genre: Fiction/Fantasy/New Adult
My book takes place in the 17th century and follows a female lead named Lullaby Crescent. She loses her family at a young age and years later reunites with her sibling she believed to be dead. Meanwhile, rumors spread around the kingdom of who was really behind the death of the former royal family and Lullaby's kin is the number one suspect. However, Lullaby has also made new allies over time and now has to decide if blood is thicker than water before an uprising begins.
FURTHER DETAILS
The deadline is three weeks from today (December 6, 2021) because I would like to see my options before finalizing an artist to draw my book cover.
I will not be paying you the full $20 until I receive the cover for the book and I am satisfied with it. If you would rather be paid upfront, I will pay $10 upon casting and $10 once the cover is finished to my liking. You just have to let me know and also inform me of how you would like to be paid (PayPal, CashApp, etc).
It is not required for you to have a Discord, but to stay in touch, I'd prefer you have a Discord since I'm easier to reach there and quicker to respond. Alternatively, we can stick to PMs on CastingCallClub.
My Wattpad profile is linked below. If you would like to follow me to read the complete book once it's finished or just get an idea of where your art will be featured, feel free to check it out.

I would like to give my thanks to everyone who took the time to submit their art pieces for this little project of mine. I know that artsy sorts might get insecure over having someone else's artwork picked over theirs, but I can assure you, it wasn't an easy choice. I did give everybody who auditioned the same amount of consideration as the next. I narrowed down my choices to the art styles I believed would fit my book best and in the end, I am pleased to announce that rosali will be the artist illustrating my book's cover! Once again, thank you all so much for your wonderful submissions and I wish you luck on your future projects.
I mentioned how to audition above in the project description, but if you missed it, I'll repeat it here.
You may either show me your previous works of art or make something new to show off (preferably a sketch or draft of what I requested to be on the cover, but this isn't necessary).
Also, I plan on writing many books, so if you would like to continue to be my artist for book covers, please do let me know. I will pay you $20 each time per cover, but for now, I only have the one book in process and don't plan on moving on to another until this one is done.
