BOAP - Sparky (Animated Short-Film)

BOAP - Sparky (Animated Short-Film)

Project Overview

BOAP, or Blender Open Animation Project, is a short-film project hosted by Blender Community (@blender.community on Instagram) that follows the story of a robot named Sparky, a curious robot that attempts to fix an energy crisis in a town known as Glenton. The movie takes place in 2032, where a bill had just been passed forcing the entire city to convert to 100% green energy. As green energy isn't that efficient yet, the town plummets into an energy crisis. Sparky attempts to create an energy source of his own to solve the energy problems of the city.

Currently, we have voice acting submissions that are set in stone for all the characters except 2, which are both female roles. One of them, a News Reporter, and the other, a town Mayor. Both are very short roles that are only in one scene. If your voice is selected, you will be credited at the end of the short film and get to follow the production of Sparky in all areas of work, including animating, modeling, sound design, editing, music composing, and of course, voice acting. The main program we're using for modeling and animating is Blender.

We're looking for people that have access to a quality mic and are female, considering both roles are female.

  • There seems to be reports of a 'rogue robot' in Glenton. Many citizens are claiming to have seen the robot take crucial pieces from renewable power plants. Town officials are warning citizens to watch out for this small robot, and small groups are currently searching for it.
