Blessed Messiah and the Tower of Ai (English Chorus)
Project Overview
Hey there! My name is Kathrine, and I'm putting together a group of 10 people, including myself, to sing a group cover of Blessed Messiah and the Tower of Ai. We are doing an English cover and using SirHamnet's lyrics.

To audition, all you need to do is sing a portion of your desired character's lyrics!
PLEASE DO NOT AUDITION FOR A CHARACTER YOU CANNOT HIT THE NOTES OF!
Also, please note that they are not gender restricted! If you're a guy that can hit a female character's notes, go for it! If you're a girl with a deeper voice like mine, then go for it!

As of now, don't worry too much about adlibing. We'll be switching that around once cast is decided upon.
Song Information:
One day, the local seamstress of the "Village of Youth" receives a letter from the oracle of the nearby kingdom. The seamstress (Miku) is destined to become the next Messiah, the one who has to get the 9 "blessings" inside of the "Tower of AI". Her friends and the other villagers decide to help her too. What no one knows is that the so called "blessings" are tests God set up to test her and see if she could endure the curses. She has the choice of either surviving all the curses or splitting them between 9 people. She is unaware about these 2 facts, so she lets her friends join her. They are a pair of shepherd siblings (Len and Rin), a dancer (Luka), a poet (GUMI), a monk (Gackpo), a pair of baker sisters (MAYU and IA), a knight (MEIKO), and the village chief (KAITO).
However, inside of the tower, the 9 "friends" put aside their friendship and betray her, one by one. She realizes that they were all blinded by greed, wanting to get more power by grabbing the blessings for themselves.
Finally, she reaches the top of the tower alone, where the altar was waiting for her. Surrounding a stone pedestal, 9 statues are arranged in a circle holding unlit, red candles in their skeletal hands, which suddenly become illuminated. She learns that her 9 friends actually knew about the curse, and just did not want her to know what they were doing, so they pretended to betray her so that she could save the world instead.
Realizing the fate that her friends had to suffer from splitting the curse, the Messiah understands that they were never being greedy. They just wanted to protect her and never once wanted to steal the "blessings" and did not want her to feel the pain of enduring the curse. Even at their death, they always remembered their motto, "In sickness and in health, we share joy and pain".
A ghostly figure disappears right after the flame on the stone pedestal ignites. The Messiah finally accepts her fate, smiles for herself and reaches her hands to the altar. In the end, it is unknown what happened and is left for open interpretations.
Singer
The leader of the group! If you audition for this role, you must be able to hit the note D6! The background chorus at the end requires it, and the final part is just a few notes below that!
Stands there all by herself, as she laughs to the sky, for the blessing were nine sorrows in disguise as she raises her hands up towards the shrine!
The Messiah could do nothing, watching as the first blessing was quickly taken away
That the lumber cutter's daughter would receive the high honor, the next Messiah's role!

The young man! Kaito is a tenor, and it mostly sticks to that, but his notes are a bit strenuous at the end, so watch out for that!
"We will face all our fortune and pain as one!" (laughs)

The Swordswoman has a lower voice, but she does go into a higher range a couple of times, so be aware!

One of the higher voices of the ensemble! She stays in the same range nearly the entire song, so no surprises there

The Older sister of the Bakers! She has a medium to higher voice.

Next they found the 【Graceful Sunlight】Which was won over by older sister’s open hands, as she smiled happily

Gackupo is a baritone, but he goes into a higher, more intense range SEVERAL times during the song!

Mayu has one of the more mellower parts, but she does vocalize quite a lot near the end. It is NOT a deal breaker! Vocalization can be shifted!

The younger of the two Shepard twins. This is where genderbending comes into play, as I myself will be singing Len's role.

The poet of the group! She has a higher voice, but she stays that way throughout the song.

Luka's range in this song is varied, ranging from almost operatic to an alto. She is a very challenging role and will be doing a LOT of vocalization.
