BIONICLE is a toyline originally produced by the LEGO group. Throughout 2001-2010 it featured a storyline where legendary heroes known as Toa worked together to revive their creator, Mata Nui. They would unite against the forces of evil, led by the traitorous Makuta Teridax, who aimed to take over the world as they know it.
BIONICLE: Iliad is a small group of members in the BIONICLE community who are joined together by one goal; to retell the story of BIONICLE through a fully CGI 3D Animated web-series.
We recently debuted our first animations showcasing the voice actors from the last casting call, but to continue production we're gonna need more voice actors. That's where you come in! We're looking for skilled voice actors to bring this project to life!
Familiarity with BIONICLE and its characters is not required to participate, we're only looking for the best Voice Talent available.
This casting call currently covers Episode 2, with some reoccurring characters who will reappear in future episodes. Don't worry, we won't keep you waiting around. Recording will begin shortly after casting is complete.
The Casting Call will open on October 30th, 2022 at 12:00AM EDT (UTC - 4) and close two weeks later on November 13th, 2022 at 11:59PM EST (UTC - 5).

Bring your energy and enthusiasm to the role. We are NOT looking for impressions or imitations of any existing BIONICLE Media. This includes voicing the Matoran with higher-pitched voices like they’re children. Barring the Turaga characters, who should sound older, all characters will fit in the generic adult voice range. We invite everyone to bring their own unique, enthusiastic take to the role. Have fun!

These aren’t just suggestions. If you don’t follow these instructions, you’re not likely to be cast.
We’re looking for solid mic quality, you don’t need to have a $1000 Microphone or anything, just preferably not a tin can.
No Background noise or reverb. Pretty self-explanatory, we don’t want to hear your whole house or neighborhood, just your lovely voice.
No Slating. Don’t say your name before the takes, we can read it. Just go straight to the lines.
3 takes maximum for each line and read each line at least once. Make sure each take is unique.
Ad-libbing to change a line is allowed so long as you give us a take of you not ad-libbing alongside it. If you don't, we'll consider you as having not read all the lines.
You may attach a demo reel as part of your audition.
Auditions must be sent in by the deadline, we may grant exceptions if reasonable. We reserve the right not to grant exceptions.
We will not send individual rejection emails. If you don't hear from us within a week or two of the deadline, sorry, you did not make it.
All Roles will be Live-directed.
Discord will be required for live-direction during recording sessions.
If we enjoyed your audition, but think you could fit a different role better, we may contact you with an invitation to audition for said different role.
Feel free to audition for as many characters as you'd like, auditioning for one won't disqualify you for another.

Takua is a curious soul, some might say too curious, others might say catastrophically curious. Never one for responsibility, Takua much preferred to go on self-appointed excursions across Mata Nui. This caught the ire of the dutiful Ta-Matoran, and he was banished. But now after a shocking series of events, he has lost all memory of himself and the island he lives on. Lots of people have lots of expectations of him he doesn’t yet understand, and Takua finds himself at a crossroads between getting stuck in his complicated past, or forging a new path into the future. Like many Ta-Matoran, Takua can be quite stubborn, but despite this he can’t help feeling like he doesn’t fit in. In spite, or perhaps because, of his wandering - what Takua longs for most is a place to call home.
(CONFUSED, POLITE)

The model Ga-Matoran, and Nokama’s right hand, Hahli is sure and sensible. She is popular and respected in Ga-Koro, and despite this doesn’t allow it to go to her head. She’s a good listener, a sharp wit, and has even led Ga-Koro in meditation on a few occasions. When Maku gets into trouble, Hahli is usually the one to pull her out of it.

The wise Turaga of water. Nokama is a resourceful and logical person, preferring a firm yet compassionate approach to her role as guide of Gali and leader of Ga-Koro. She’s as much a teacher as she is a ruler.

Maku is a courageous and friendly Ga-Matoran. Her desire to live a life of adventure sometimes puts her at odds with the ways of her people, but she carries a deep dedication to others nevertheless.

Kotu is the jealous wannabe popular girl. She has a disdain for Maku and her chaotic behavior, and disdain for Hahli by association. She’s stubborn, self-important, and condescending, though she will put on an air of kindness if she’s trying to suck up to someone, typically Turaga Nokama.
(PROUD FOR NO GOOD REASON)
This is Kotu, I’m Nokama’s right hand.

Nixie has always been obsessed with the stars, and learning their secrets. Her attempts can be hit or miss, but her passion is undeniable. She can be a little dramatic, and her fixation on prophecy can be grating to some, but she’s a kind soul and a good friend.

Respectfully, Turaga, the stars revealed that the Toa would arrive and defeat Makuta. The prophecy said nothing about us.
