Berserk the Audio Manga, Episode 3: The Guardians of Desire, Part 1
Project Overview
Berserk is a dark fantasy manga, written by Kentaro Miura. Following the Black Swordsman Guts, a man with a cursed fate, the story explores the depths of camaraderie and betrayal, and contemplates whether or not a man truly has any control over his destiny. Over the course of almost 30 years, over 300 chapters have been released, with the end still not in sight. This project seeks to adapt the entirety of Berserk, taking the incredible artwork from the manga and adding music, sound effects, and of course, voice acting.
Episode 3 finds heretics, round up for execution at the orders of the Count. Guts watches the proceedings, before issuing a declaration of war against the Count, knowing him to be an Apostle. While engaging in battle with the Count's henchmen, led by the brutal Lord Zondark, Pucks and Guts are led to safety by Vargas. A victim of the Count's cruelty, Vargas discusses his history, before revealing he holds the mysterious Behelit in his possession!
While I do consider this a passion project, it is something I ask that everyone put their best effort into. I want this to be the highest quality I can make it, and to do that, I need my cast to have good recording equipment and the discipline to get their lines in on time. With that said, any and all are welcome, and I look forward to hearing your auditions!
Voice Actor
Dahl is the minister of the town, under the Count's rule. While he acts primarily out of fear for his own life, he still shows little remorse or care towards those who fall prey to the Count's cruelty. In the end, he's more of a secondary antagonist than a victim.
VERDICT! The Inquisition hereby finds the accused guilty of making a pact with the Devil and engaging in heresy most foul. The accused is therefore sentenced to immediate execution.
Excellency, this is dangerous. May I suggest you return to your chambers?

A victim of the Count's cruelty, Vargas lives in hiding, disfigured from his wounds and lamenting the loss of his family.
You never know when you might be accused of heresy, or by whom. And they’re not just afraid of strangers. Acquaintances, neighbors, friends, even family... In this town, people are a thing to be feared.
Heh heh heh... You know, I saw you at the execution grounds today. Do you have some sort of grudge against the Count? Is it...revenge?
I couldn’t bear to be a part of the Count’s diversions, so I secretly fled the castle with my wife and two sons. But on our way out we were caught and thrown into prison. Then the fiend hacked me up...and right before my eyes, he took my wife...and my sons!
