BEAST - Animated Horror Short Film
Project Overview
BEAST is an independent horror short film, following a lone MAN hunted through city streets by an angry mob. He finds refuge in the sewers when he's rescued by a mysterious creature. Beneath the surface, the two develop a relationship during the formation of a full moon...
This is a passion project, featuring unique 2D/3D hybrid animation techniques, mixing 3D-animated characters alongside hand-painted 2D background paintings. We are a small production team, scattered throughout Canada and abroad, working fully remote. After years of visual development work, we are soon heading into production, excited to finally find the voices to these characters.

A lone man running from an angry mob, chased through the streets of this filthy city. He's a lone man with a secret---when the full moon reveals itself, the darkest part of himself follows suit.
Scared. Nervous. Fearing and begging for his life.

Voice Actor
In a world where monsters and non-human creatures are exiled, ostracized, and vilified, THE MONSTER lives a lonely life in his makeshift home in the sewers beneath the city streets. Until a violent scene passes overhead, and he chooses to save a life. Welcoming THE MAN into his home. The Monster doesn't speak, and can't understand English. He "hums" "mumbles" and "murmurs" almost like a wise old man. We are imagining a fascinating creature voice, mixing reptilian/amphibian-like sounds to portray emotions of empathy, shyness, care, and compassion.

Imitate The Monster preparing a drink for his new friend, and guest in his home, The Man. He pours two glasses, and holds one out to him as an offer, hoping he will accept. When The Man does, he's joyful, and they sip together. He wants to take care, heal, and nourish him back to his feet.
Improvise! Pretend you are The Monster attempting to communicate with the man.
Voice Actor
Looking for multiple voices to portray the anger of a chaotic mob chasing THE MAN through the streets. They've set a target on him, believing him to be A BEAST in disguise, and want to wipe him from their city to protect their children. Scary-sounding adults of any gender or size. The bravest of the community.
"LIAR! You monster... KILL HIM!" *Angry aggressive wrath as they beat the poor man on the ground with fists, bats, kicks.*
"GET HIM!" "KILL HIM!" "YEAH!"
