Project Overview

This project is going to essentially be a "blind film" in that the story will be told entirely through audio rather than any visuals. It can be compared to an audio book that does not have a narrator. This film will be published on YouTube under the channel, Shadow Sniper Films. Here is a brief outline of the story: (running time, ~8-10 minutes)

*Being played through a recorded audio tape resting on a table

A man comes home from his usual day of work (unknown job, characters remain ambiguous in the story). After greeting his son and sending the teen off to do his homework, he encounters his wife in the kitchen, preparing food for dinner. He attempts to initiate conversation with her but is met with deadly passive aggressive comments. 

These escalate into a full-blown argument in which the wife tells him of her knowledge dealing with his office affair. He desperately tries to save himself at first but eventually just confesses to the act and explains to her why it happened. Trying to end the conversation peacefully, the man finds himself at the end of a barrel attached to a handgun the wife possesses. 

Just before she makes the final squeeze to end his life, the son walks in and makes the attempt to stop the violence. A gunshot can be heard but who the bullet found its way to is unknown and the tape recording ends.

This man, around his early to mid 30's, has taken another woman other than his wife for some time. He desperately attempts to calm the following argument between him and his wife while digging himself even further into his grave. He cares for his son but can no longer stand the torment of being with the boy's mother.

  • "Hey kiddo, how was school today?"

  • Feigning innocence, "Oh baby, it's not what you think."

  • With an angry tone. "That's because I was busy keeping food on the table and not being a stay-at-home mom!"

This mother, after discovering her husband's terrible secret, goes into a rage over the matter and eventually ends up drawing a gun on him. Her motivations mostly lie in her emotions even though she claims it is for their child. What starts off as violent and irrational becomes serious and deliberate when she makes the final move to end her husband's life.

  • Passive aggressive tone, "I'm sure it does, just like that slut does too."

  • Almost violently, "And how the hell do you plan on doing that, huh?"

  • With a serious and clear voice, "That's not important, now sit down."

Caught in the crossfire of his parents' struggle, the son feels lost and helpless in the matter as he watches their marriage collapse and come to a violent end. 

  • Matter-of-factly, "Got it done already."

  • Terrified, "Don't shoot him mom! He's your husband for God's sake!"

  • Breaking down, almost in tears, "No mom, you can't."
