UPDATES1st September: Whoops, didn't realise that the little plot blurb had two copies of the plot summary, one an earlier one where the plot was a liiil different. Should be fixed now, apologies folks! Nonetheless, thank you all for the auditions, I'll be rejecting and shortlisting them as they come in, starting with the ones having been sent in over the past few days tonight! If you don't get a notification that your audition was rejected, then you were most likely shortlisted!
7th September: There's some really great auditions here, but not as many as I would've hoped. I am debating extending the deadline to beyond the 10th, especially considering next week is gonna be busy for me anyways.
10th September: Hello all! I've taken the decision to extend the auditions by another week. This isn't due to a lack of good auditions, but this week is far too busy for me and I won't be able to give all the auditions the proper love nd attention they need to decide the cast until that date. Good luck all! O7

The Protagonist of Aphyns: Infinity, Renee is a complex, introspective character who has endured significant emotional trauma and personal challenges. He carries the weight of a troubled past, which manifests as he slowly recovers his memories over the course of the game. Renee is both resilient and vulnerable, often masking his deep-seated pain with sarcasm and indifference. However, beneath his detached exterior lies a man desperately searching for peace and understanding, both with himself and the world around him.
Renee evolves over the course of the game, and this role needs some versatility to it due to how much he changes; he needs to display a wide range of emotions subtly, with an emphasis on internal conflict.
Personality Traits:
- Reserved yet expressive: Renee often keeps his emotions close to the chest but has moments of raw, honest expression.
- Witty with a dark edge: His sense of humor is sharp, often serving as a defense mechanism against his inner turmoil.
- Conflicted: Torn between his past and the person he wants to become, Renee struggles with guilt, anger, and a longing for reconciliation.

Yellow… that’s- what’s it called? A complementary colour to purple? Wait- so I don’t remember my mother but I know what a complementary colour is? Great.
NO, NO, NO! FUCKING HELL! It’s right there… Right! There! This is a fucking nightmare…
Maybe I’m just tired of being caught up in this- in your whirlwind of anger and hate.
Erebus is an enigmatic and malevolent figure, embodying the unknown and the uncontrollable. He exudes an aura of danger and unpredictability, with a demeanor that shifts from eerily calm to violently explosive in the blink of an eye. Erebus is driven by an insatiable desire for chaos and power, often manipulating those around him with a twisted sense of enjoyment. He is intelligent, calculating, and possesses a dark charisma that makes him as compelling as he is terrifying. Despite his outward confidence, there are hints of a deeper, more tormented side, though he keeps his true intentions and origins shrouded in mystery. Hell, it could be debated that even he doesn't know his own origins - or at least at first.
Personality Traits:
- Manipulative: Erebus delights in luring his victims into a false sense of security, subtly weaving a web of deceit and charm. Just when they begin to trust or underestimate him, he shatters the illusion with sudden, terrifying intensity.
- A sense of Justice: Despite his antagonistic nature, there is a method to his madness; Erebus stands for justice, and seeing those who are weak or wrong get what they deserve.
You called me an ‘it’. How. fucking. Rude. I have a name, you know. In the future, if you value your life, you’ll call me by my name- Erebus.
I just love watching you get what you deserve. The sound of your screams is beautiful, like music to my ears.
Running away? Oh, Renee, you forget... you forget, I hate your kind, the ones who push this world closer to darkness every single day. And I am the one to purge them.
Ashe is Renee's mother, a deeply layered character marked by her resilience and past traumas. She has endured significant emotional and psychological challenges, particularly related to her history of abuse and the strain it has placed on her relationship with Renee. Despite her love for her son, Ashe struggles to connect with him, often because of her own unresolved pain and her dedication to her role at the church. This distance has created a rift between them, but her concern for Renee remains unwavering, even if it sometimes manifests as overprotectiveness or guilt.
Personality Traits:
Resilient: Ashe has faced tremendous adversity in her life, from past abuse to the challenges of single motherhood. Her resilience is her strength, though it sometimes causes her to bury her emotions deep inside.
Loving but Guilt-Ridden: Ashe’s love for Renee is profound, but it’s also complicated by the guilt she feels over not always being there for him when he needed her most. This guilt often clouds her judgment, making her attempts to reconnect with Renee feel strained or belated.
Overprotective: Having suffered greatly in her own life, Ashe is fiercely protective of Renee, sometimes to the point of smothering. She worries constantly about his well-being, fearing that her past mistakes might repeat themselves in his life.
Haunted by the Past: Ashe carries the heavy burden of her past traumas, particularly the abuse she endured from the church pastor. This history has made her both strong and vulnerable, shaping her interactions with Renee and others.

Ah, Renee. Here we are again. Tell me, after all these loops- these repeats, do you remember how many times we've had this conversation? Because I do.
You really did a number on this place. I had a grudge against you for it for the longest time, but really, what's the worst that came out of it? Having to start again? It was rather enlightening, so consider this a gift.
I'm starting to think all of this is a waste on you. Don't disappoint me again.

So, you’re telling me that after all the high-tech gadgets and fancy equipment, your secret to relaxing is watching cat videos? That’s just adorable.
Look, Jack, I get it—keeping secrets and all that. But you better make sure you’ve got a plan for if things go south. It’s not just about keeping the lab safe; it’s about keeping us safe, too
