Andromeda's Way Home
Project Overview
Andromeda's Way Home is a stop-motion short film I am making for my senior project. It revolves around Andromeda, or Andy, the only human girl on an alien planet. Feeling isolated and wanting to find out more about her home planet, she ventures to a ruined city to reach the observatory her adoptive guardian found her in.

This is the main character of my short film. She is the only human on an alien planet, and she's struggling with feeling like she belongs-- especially since her birthday brought a massive storm that destroyed her Nana's city. She's adventurous, optimistic, and independent... even to a fault.

Huh. Space is a lot darker than I thought it would be.
*near tears* This whole city is gone because of me, right?
Nana Is Andromeda's adoptive guardian. She's loving and warm, if not a tad overbearing. There's nothing she cares about more than Andromeda.

You’re my home, Andromeda. And if that means I have to go through a million of the worst storms, well, it’s all worth it to be given the best gift I’ve ever received. There’s nothing you could do or say to change that.
Andromeda is made by Nana to spend the first part of her birthday at school. During the school day, she and her classmates watch a documentary depicting the anniversary of the horrible storm that took place the day Andy was born. This is just a disembodied voice needed to explain a historical event.

Our best scientists worked alongside alienkind’s most experienced astronomers to learn more about the universe we share.
We mourn the great loss that occurred that day, and hope for a future when we can rebuild, and make our city beautiful once more.
Maeve is one of Andy's closest friends. She's sharp, analytical and level-headed. Sometimes she can come off a little hash, but everything she says is meant with love.

Andy, do you seriously think a baby did all of this? Why would your friends think that?
