Bleach: An Explosive Family Reunion Audio Drama
Project Overview
My name is KastroNo (also known as KastroNo0612), and I’m excited to announce a casting call for an audio drama adaptation of the Bleach fanfiction An Explosive Family Reunion, originally written by Whackybiscuit and BlueShard20.
This story serves as a continuation of the Bleach manga, following Kisuke Urahara as he discovers the remains of Bambietta Basterbine in the ruins of the Soul Society. Choosing to revive her, Bambietta starts her new life — reuniting with her long-lost mother, adapting to life in the World of the Living, and forming new bonds with Ichigo and his closest friends.

I’ll be serving as the Director, Art Director, Scriptwriter, and Editor for this project.
Now, to address the elephant in the room — yes, the original fanfiction includes lemon content. However, I’ve thoroughly rewritten those sections, replacing them with fresh, character-driven scenes that support the overall narrative. I've also added new material throughout to keep things exciting, even for those familiar with the original version.
For this project, I'm looking for volunteer voice actors and artists. All relevant audition details and requirements are listed below — please make sure to read everything carefully, as it helps ensure a smoother process for everyone involved.
When it comes to deadlines for both Voice Actors and Artists, I want to keep things relaxed. I’m not going to be super strict about hard deadlines — all I ask is that you show some progress at least once a week. Whether that’s a WIP sketch, a line read, or just a quick message saying where you're at, it helps keep things moving smoothly and lets me know you’re still on board. As for release dates — there’s no fixed schedule. Episodes and content will be released when they’re ready. No pressure, no crunch.
If you're selected to join the audio drama team, you’ll receive a private Discord invite where all project communication and collaboration will take place.If your audition is strong but I’ve already cast someone else for the role, I may ask if you’d like to be added to the reserve list — a group of trusted backups I’ll reach out to if someone from the main cast steps away for any reason.
A Note About the Project: This is a passion project. I want every contributor to have fun and feel comfortable. If at any point you feel overwhelmed or no longer enjoy working on the project, please don’t hesitate to let me know. Communication is key — I deeply appreciate honesty and would much rather talk things through than have someone quietly step away.
For voice actors, I’m looking for clear, high-quality recordings with minimal background noise. Since this project will be performed in English, I encourage voices from a wide range as we’re looking for your voice to give off the spirit of the character, you don’t need to sound just like them. There are no restrictions on how many characters you can audition for or on gender — feel free to try out for as many roles as you'd like!
Because this is an audio drama, vocal emotion and performance are everything. Your ability to bring the scene to life and convey the feelings of the character are very important, so please go wild if you feel comfortable with that.
All audition roles are for canon characters from Bleach. There are a few original characters included, but their roles are relatively minor — most appear only in the final episode. These OC roles, along with other minor characters, will be filled by the existing voice actors.
Each character will have 3 sample lines provided for auditions. These lines should all be included in your audition audio. Most of the lines are from the anime/manga so I could compare them to each other. All the characters are listed in the order they appear in the story.

The narrator is the single most important role when it comes to voice actors. The narrator has most of the lines and will be the one describing almost everything. I'm looking for either a man or women who's voice we can listen to for hours without getting bored.

The role of Bambietta will go along with the minor role of Zombietta, also known as Zombietta Bambietta. A reanimated, mindless version of Bambietta under Giselle’s control, stripped of her former personality and reduced to a shambling, bloodthirsty puppet.

The brilliant and eccentric shopkeeper who brought Bambietta back to life and who always wears his striped bucket hat . He’s a genius inventor and once the Captain of the 12th Squad of the Gotei 13. Though he acts carefree, he’s always several steps ahead.

A short, serious Shinigami who gave Ichigo his powers. The White Moon to Ichigo's Black Sun. She’s brave, disciplined, and values justice. Though she can act tough, she’s very caring and willing ignore orders if they endanger one of her friends.

I’m primarily looking for digital artwork, though traditional hand-drawn pieces are also welcome. Ideally, your submission should include your ability to illustrate Bleach characters — preferably in color and with backgrounds. Shading is optional, but color is required. I'm looking for as many artists as possible.
Artists will be assigned specific scenes to illustrate based on what's needed for the production. However, I’m always open to feedback! If there’s a scene you’d rather not work on, or if there’s a type of moment you’re especially passionate about drawing, please don’t hesitate to let me know. My goal is for this to be a collaborative and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
