Amazing Spider-Man #121 [Comic Dub]

Project Overview

True Believers! I’m thrilled to present the SECOND comic dub from my collection! If you loved Silver Surfer: Requiem, you won’t want to miss this one: Amazing Spider-Man #121!

One of Spider-Man’s most popular stories, this is a single-issue adventure, with some follow-up details in #122. To give you the fullest experience, I’ve woven in a few elements from #122 — fully acted, fully cut, and fully edited! And guess what? No AI in sight! I mean… it’s a COMIC DUB, after all.

If you don’t know the story — even better! I’ll keep the surprises intact. If you do know it — keep the illusion alive until the dub is finished.

Oh, and a Stan Lee impersonator VA has already been brought on board off-site to provide the narration — true Marvel-style magic, ‘nuff said! All completed projects will be right here on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@SpokenWorlds1.

HOUSE RULES aka AUDITION EXPECTATIONS
1. AABBCC - 2 different takes for each line! idk, it makes me feel fuzzy inside doing it this way. It's just better!

2. XLR mics PREFERRED! Because nobody wants a cheap mic screaming next to a pristine condenser — it’s like listening to a kazoo battle a grand piano.
>>Okay I digress, we work with what we got! But please understand how important mic quality is and how it can throw off the presentation! Some roles are good with a USB mic and some I'd absolutely like to have an XLR Mic (pretty please).

3. No discord server needing to be joined! But a discord profile would suffice for communication! I get it folks, I'm on discord server #10 in other projects and NOBODY TALKS! So I'm going dutch!

4. Skip the slate, jump straight to the glory of reading lines!

NOTE: Her personality is subtle, as she doesn’t have many lines, so consider her character history when shaping your performance. Prior familiarity isn’t required, but it can be helpful!”

-Transatlantic preferred but not required!

NOTE: Some lines provided are not in the comic itself — they are included to better evaluate your performance. Only the first line is taken directly from the issue.

Who is he?

-Peter Parker’s best friend and the son of Norman Osborn, often caught between loyalty, personal struggles, and his father’s shadow.

Major or Minor role?

-In between minor/major role -- essential to the story, but not entirely important. He has only 1 scene.

Personality?

- In this issue, he is under the influence of drugs so he is lethargic in this one scene and is also concerned of his Father's well-being.

Accent?
-Traditional American sounding accent. Transatlantic is acceptable but not needed. Voice tone should be unsteady and disoriented. He has feelings of being vulnerable and reactive.

NOTE: This scene is small so XLR condenser mics are not MANDATORY like most of the other roles. But please deliver clear audio.

Major or Minor role?

-Minor Supporting Role. Appears only for one scene alongside Robbie Robertson!

Personality?

- Loud and bombastic, hot-tempered, obsessive and single-minded. Voice tone should be loud and commanding and often bordering on yelling

Who is he?
-Norman Osborn’s villainous alter ego — a cunning, sadistic, and unpredictable foe of Spider-Man.

Major or Minor role?

-Major main character.

Personality?
-Sadistic trickster. He revels in chaos, pain, and fear. Think of a mix between a court jester and a serial killer.

Accent?
-fundamentally American, but you warp it for theatrical effect. Norman Osborn is calm, measured, proper. Goblin is wild, jagged, unpredictable. Your “accent” comes from that swing between control and chaos.

NOTE: I am using a separate VA for this role, but if you’re cast as Norman Osborn and are able to perform this part, it’s all yours!

***LINE DIRECTION***
Every line should feel like it’s coming from a deeply personal grudge, not just generic villainy. It’s equal parts hatred and obsession. Think of it as a comic book villain giving a stage monologue—big and dramatic, but still clear. Begin controlled and deliberate, then let the anger spiral into full-blown fury by the end

This role has already been cast!

Some context:
-Since this is a 1970's comic book issue, I knew right away the kind of voice I wanted.

For reference: https://youtu.be/Ecwn6TqYYpQ?list=PLZZbvU_TVksqVdkK3iHDOQM_aL-uBpcLy&t=462

So I went with a voice style that matches similar to the referenced link.
