SIREN'S LAMENT [WEBTOON FANDUB]
Hey there! I’ve decided to start my first ever project on here! Since the webtoon recently came back from it's hiatus, I decided for my project to be a fandub for my favourite webtoon ever, Sirens Lament. With this project, if you get casted, I hope everyone is patient with me! and I apologize in advance if everything takes long.
Summary of the Webtoon: Content with her ordinary life, Lyra is somewhat of a wallflower. However, her comfortable lifestyle suddenly goes astray when she accidentally plunges into the world of sirens. Entangled in a curse, Lyra will learn that her world may be a lot bigger than she had ever imagined.
*Note for whoever is auditioning: of course you don't have to be a young adult to audition for these roles. I'm only describing the actual characters as young adults. Age requirement is in the list of rules below!*
*Also please know that since I don't know how far I'll go with this project, I don't know if we'll reach the episodes where characters like Tua, Pele and Crim get introduced. This all depends, I'll still give the role to someone, but there's still a chance that I may or may not reach the episode you guys appear in. This all depends on my schedule and how well this project goes.
RULES:
1. Must have discord! (I only prefer discord as a way of communication. Mention your discord when auditioning)
2. Must be able to submit lines before the due dates. (Reasonable excuses will be accepted or if I'm busy, then i will extend the due date)
3. Must be 15 or older to audition for this. (Well, it’s just a preference)
4. Must have decent microphone. (I was being sarcastic in the video when I said I don't care if you used your phone, honestly don't mind it? But I'd just prefer you to use a microphone)
5. Must show your emotion well as there is a lot of emotion that the characters have.
6. Must be someone who can handle profanity. (This is just a rule for the role of Ian, as he might cuss at some points (I don't remember it being anything intense). Generally speaking, if there is profanity on discord, I don't mind it.)
I will of course give you credit in the video and in the description itself. I'll also write recommendations! Further details about this will be explained to you if you get one of roles down below in the discord chat.

I will be taking the role of Lyra, unless stated otherwise. But I might need an alternate voice actress for Lyra, just in case I may get sick, or if I won't be able to record, etc.
Lyra is a very caring girl. She loves and wants to protect those she cares for, and will do anything to help out her loved ones.
I kinda picture her to have a soft-ish to neutral-ish voice. Not too high, not too low.
Mermaids-- Sirens-- They're mythological! They don't exist-- I-It's crazy talk!
Shon was right, the view of the ocean looks great... as it always has, right? It's fine. It's... Fine... It's... *starts crying*
*sound soft* As for you... *sound angry* Try showing a little more gratitude, would you?!
Ian is one out of the three main characters. His role and Lyra's role are probably the most important roles to me.
Ian is the type of guy who speaks whatever is on his mind. He often is flirty, and he loves teasing and making sarcastic remarks.
I kind of picture him to have a neutral guy voice, you know, not too high, not too low, type of voice.
...Okay, fish bait. Just put the stick down. Hear me out.

Ugh "Shon" this, "Shon" that.
Look at me, I'm Shon. Let me woo you with my fancy hair and non-punctualness.
Shon is someone who is very protective of those he cares about.. sometimes a little too protective. He's someone who worries too much about others, and only thinks of others first before himself.
Again, I prefer a not too high but not too low voice!
Your heart tells you one thing... But deep down you know you have to do what's right. Don't you ever feel that way sometimes?
...It takes a lot to get Lyr angry, I'm partially impressed that you're able to bring out that side of her.
It might not be exactly the same, but knowing you, you'll be loved just as much.
Aleah is a mature, and sometimes emotionless type of person. She's seen as the type of person that's evil and destroying, but she might just be a person who's hurting a lot inside.
I want her voice to be a mature voice, with a little bit of sass and girlyness in it. I also want some evil voice in her just for the certain parts, hehe.
I used to be naive once... I refused to think of the consequences and thought love would work everything out on its own. But I was too reckless. I wound up hurting myself even more and losing everything I had...
I'm happy for Shon. I know he's worked hard to build up the courage until now. There's no point in trying to ruin all of that for him...
Let's return all your memories, shall we?
Tua is very helpful to Lyra and Ian. He is good friends with Ian and Pele is his main romantic interest of the story.
No worries, but if your really are sorry, maybe a kiss will make up for it, hmm?
Well, well... What do we have here?
I... I don't know, but-- We'll figure out something, Pels! I Promise!
At first, Pele is depicted as lonely, desolate, and cowardly. She is initially afraid to join Lyra's side because she doesn't want to get hurt. Once she meets Lyra again after swimming away from her in addition to talking with Tua more, it's shown that she opens up more and takes a few risks.
I wanted that so badly for us, too.
A REAL man wouldn't leave a woman unattended in dangerous waters.
Do you really think it's true, Tua?... That Lyra could be the Poseidon's sister?
Kori is a very bright, fun and talkative girl. She's very energetic and hates being left out in things. At the end of the day, she's a very loving sister to Shon and Coen, and a great best friend to Lyra.
Ugh, good riddance, Aleah. I bet she's not even going to come inside to greet us. The snob.
Craap, I'm so hung over right now.
Shon told me you had some person staying over- but really?! No one ever mentioned he was a SMOKIN' HOT PIECE OF MOCHA CHOCA-LATA YAYA! I mean, C'MON! that changes EVERYTHING!
Coen is Kori and Shon's little brother, and he aspires to marry Lyra. (Even though he is way younger than her). He is kind and agreeable, and much loved by many characters.
What'cha doin'?
I'm gonna marry Lyra, you know!
Let me set one thing straight. Lyra's mine, got it?
He's seen as the "evil" character, who tries to make things worst for the main characters. He's someone who's very loyal to the Poseidon and does everything for the Poseidon.
You'll play a wonderful part in the Poseidon's plan.
Did you know... no sorcerer-- not even a sorcerer as great as the poseidon-- Can enchant a spell to give one immortality?
Do you really think she's trying to save you? If she really loved you, would she have put you in this miserable state?
Hona is Lyra's adoptive grandmother and comfort when times are tough. She knows about the siren curse and does not approve of Lyra being involved with it. She found Lyra on the beach when she was a baby,
Ah yes, I've been expecting her. I'll take the call, thank you.
But maybe we suffer so that we can become stronger. So that we can understand and reach out to those who may face similar hardships later on.
I need a lot of extras both male and female! There is a lot of characters that appear in just one episode so I need maybe around 2-5 of you the most. Some of these extras could be turned into minor roles that appear like once or twice in a few episodes, depending on how far we get for this fandub, like I'm not sure if we'll reach that far or not, but just in case we do. for example, I'll need extras to be able to do a manly voice, or a mother voice, or nice guy voice, a fangirl voice, etc.
Of course, In the discord chat, I will message you to let you know if specific people end up changing their role from an extra to a known character. and I will credit you, don't worry~
Also you don't need to read all lines, you can just do the lines that you think matches your voice!
*guy voice* Well, that's a shame. I was hoping you'd be able to lead us to this "Poseidon".
*fangirl voice* Omigosh! He's exactly my type! So freakin' hot!
Say something random. Do a motherly voice, or a rude guy voice, just any type of voice you think will be useful in this project.
I need someone to create the thumbnail for the videos that will be published on youtube! I want it to either have an artsy look or a cute look (using the chibi's). Also if you could redraw the character's in a certain way, that'd be great!
Please put the link to any designs you have made in the past, or any thumbnails you've created in the past.

Okay, I obviously need help with this one because I suck at video editing in this way. I can make fan edits but not this type of editing. I need someone to help me put the video together as in putting all the scenes together (with faded, cool transitions and all that cool stuff), along with the voice overs being attached to the video.
I'll be the one adding background music, and sound effects and such, but I'm not very good at this sometimes so I might need help with that just in case.
Put a link to any videos you've edited in the past. There is no certain type of editing I want applicants to know. Really, just make sure you know how to put photos and clips together along with adding nice fades and transitions if that makes sense. (For examples, try checking out other fandub series on youtube)
