Afrikaans Demon Slayer DUB
Project Overview
Last year I started dubbing Demon Slayer into Afrikaans,
affectionately dubbed:
Demoon Kakker
Its an abridged/parody format naturally as I don't have the legal right to localize it, so all characters and location names have been changed and many of said characters personalities and lore have been changed up to fit the changes the the greater story I have made changes to.
Every character has been reinterpreted to differentiate from the source material.
All who audition must be relatively proficient in Afrikaans.
All kinds of Afrikaans speaking accents welcome

My interpretation of Sabito as Dawie is someone who thinks hes cool and tries to always come across that way.
In canon Sabito was friends with Giyu and in my dub Giyu - called Gawie, thinks he is cool, and he is.
Whereas Gawie tries to "play" things cool without seeming to try to hard to do so and is generally reserved, Sabito/ Dawie on the other hand is very animated, brash, energetic and tries a little too hard to be cool, even trying to come up with "cool lines" while hes doing something cool.
So hes voice has to be a mix of arrogance and some dude who really thinks hes cool but just not be.
His laugh has to be either an annoying or funny laugh

My interpretation of Makomo - now Magda
She is as soft spoken and seemingly sweet but like my interpretation of Sabito - now Dawie - She thinks being "cool" is of high importance, and to be cool one must be proficient in their ability, as being good at your technique makes you look "cool when performing it"
She thinks Sabito/Dawie is cool, but the pinncale of cool is Sakonji/Oom Boetjan as hes the master.

Dawie is cool...maar Oom Boetjan is so fokken cool! (she swears but sounds soft spoken and sweet still)
Daar is ander kinders net soos ons, hulle kyk altyd, Tinus... (starts sweet but becomes creepy)
Onthou net, jou longkrag is belangrik. Haal asem en laat daai bloed pomp waai.
