Welcome to Token Nostalgia’s Out of Print Manga Dub series!
My name is Neku, I’m just another fan of Zelda that grew up with the series and wants the earlier, wild west of the Zelda franchise to have a corner in the current spotlight. Token Nostalgia is a passion project youtube channel that both contains my fun attempts at voice acting and my hopes to create fun and interactive manga dubs of older media.
While the Out of Print Series is a project specifically focused on manga that is no longer easily gotten physically – the current focus of the series is the Zelda series but will expand to other franchises.
About/Goal of this Project:
Our current, and first project is Zelda no Densetsu: Kamigami no Triforce (or in English: Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past). This specific manga was published in 1993 as a one shot re-imagining of the 1991 game of the same name. This specific adaption was written and illustrated by Junko Taguchi, while the original Japanese upload was done by Melora, the mastermind behind the Zelda media collection, History of Hyrule [.com] – it was (‘sort of’ – quoted from the translator them-self) translated by a character called Masumune.
This manga is currently out of print – along with several other one shot manga – and is subject to creative liberties as the Zelda franchise had not any real concrete lore yet.
If you want to see the proof of this project I will direct you to this link:

Yes, this was all voiced by me. I am a voice actress also! But as of 8/13/26 I am getting over a bout of Covid and my voice has suffered a little. Thus this is not a completely accurate summarization of my abilities.
My goal here is to create a two part series (roughly 100 pages each) of this manga with voices and sound effects/music (as most manga dubs are). There are hard deadlines with this project as it is something that I want to complete in a timely manner.
Roles/Submission:
This project has a total of 11 named roles up for grabs, and around 13 extra roles. Several of these roles only have a few lines so I for sure encourage people to audition for more than one role! Anyone, even those who get a bigger role, if they want to, can take over an extra role!
- Please make sure you have a decent mic, and that there is no background noise. Those who audition with background noise will be automatically disqualified.
- Also when submitting please do a MP3 file, with the file name formatted as such: charactername_yourname.mp3.
Expectations:
I am a lenient director, to an extent. I’ve been burned several times on similar projects during my extended time on the internet, and while I am deathly afraid of coming off as jaded, I feel the need to set my expectations for those who will be working with me so that we can all come to an understanding.
If you are under the age of 19 please do not audition.
- I have nothing against the young ones trying to break into the industry, far from it. But I am an adult and am much more comfortable working with other adults.
Deadlines unless stated otherwise are the date something needs to be submitted.
- If something comes up, great that’s fine! Please communicate that you need an extension.
Do not ghost.
- I understand things come up, but by auditioning (and if you accept the role if offered) you are committing to this project. If you need to leave, tell me! Communication is gold.
No AI, now or ever.
- I am vehemently against AI, if this project is going to look like an early 2000’s AMV because of my growing understanding of video editing, then that’s how its going to look. This goes along with music and voice acting. It doesn’t have to be professional by any standards, but it needs to be you creating it flaws and all.
A Discord Account.
- Regrettably, or not, depending on how you look at it, if you audition you need to have a discord account as that is will be the primary way of communication. There is a server for ongoing productions. You don’t have to stick around forever! You are obviously free to leave once your role is completed, but you are more than welcome too because of various perks! (Like first look/chance of getting roles in future productions!)
Payment/Future Jobs:
Currently, I am unable to pay anyone who joins this project. If this project ever starts making money on Youtube I will endeavor to go back and pay those who have helped me (even if its not much!). I want people who I work with know that I appreciate their time and effort. And you deserve to be paid for that time.
I also cannot offer up some fantastic follower count as collateral. Through my various socials I am a modest artist by all accounts with well under 1k followers. It is possible that the Youtube channel will grow with the projects that are put onto it. Either way you will be credited in the video and in the description – with links to whatever socials you want!
So at this time, all I can promise is that (if you are in the discord!) you will be the first to know of any future projects and will have first choice at all parts before the Casting Call page even goes live!
In Conclusion:
I appreciate you taking the time to look at this silly project! If you have any questions ever, please feel free to post it here on the project page – or reach out to me here on CCC, or any of my linked socials that are in my profile.
Also on any questions about Link’s role – because of the quantity of lines I decided to take over that role myself as it will be easiest getting myself into the booth, as I learn the processes of both editing in a semi professional way, and directing others.
Later Link’s roles will be up for grabs and those in the Discord will be the first to know about it!
Sincerely,
Neku
