1980s Covers: Summer Of '69 (Bryan Adams)
Project Overview
Hi! So I'm working on making a cover of the song Summer Of '69 by Bryan Adams. And I don't want to just get singers, pull an instrumental from Youtube and that's it. I want this to be as authentic a cover as I can get.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
I'm looking for singers and musicians that are kind, fun, easy to work with, and of course, fans of the original classic.

Bryan Adams has a raspy, powerful tenor voice with the vocal range in the song being C3-G4. Our singer will need to be a tenor who can deliver a gritty, emotional performance. Backup vocals will also be needed.

[Introduce yourself, tell us a bit about yourself, what you do for a living, how long you've been singing for, why you think you'd be a good fit, etc.]
[Sing the following lyric sample of Summer Of 69 to an instrumental or piano track] And now the times are changin', Look at everything that's come and gone, Sometimes when I play that old six-string, Think about you, wonder what went wrong, Standin' on your mama's porch, You told me that it'd last forever, Oh and when you held my hand, I knew that it was now or never, Those were the best days of my life, Oh yeah, Back in the summer of '69 uh-huh, It was the summer of '69 oh yeah, Me and my baby in a '69 oh oh
We're gonna need two in total.
First guitarist will be for the lead. Must be able to deliver a crunchy, slightly overdriven tone for the iconic riff and solo.
Second guitarist will be for the rhythm. Must be able to do chord-based playing with a mix of clean and light overdrive.
Please detail in your submission if you have any experience singing as we may need you to provide backup vocals.

The bass in the song has a simple but driving bassline to keep that steady rock groove. Please keep that in mind.

We're gonna need a punchy snare, crisp hi-hats, and steady rock fills. Cus that's what was given in the song.

There’s some subtle synth and pad work in the mix, but it's not super prominent. Still, we want this to be as close as we can get it in our cover.
