1914 is a comic by Noive about the First World War - Hetalia style.

Rules

1. If cast, get your lines in ASAP

2. No background noise

3. Avoid echo

4. Positive attitude

5. At least TRY and do the accents

About the accents, even if you could try looking up some tutorials. There are a lot of minor one-line roles, so don't be daunted by the accents. Screwing up a Macedonian accent doesn't matter as much if you only have one line.

Serbia is Bosnia's older brother, and he's facing a tough decision after, in a fit of rage, murdering the Austrian Archduke. Serbia has to choose between between sacrificing his pride and independence, or declaring open war which he is not prepared for. He is quite emotional. //He has a Serbian accent//




  • (To Bosnia, after shooting Austria) DIDN'T YOU WANT FREEDOM!!? ... so this is the only way!! I don't care if it's a big sin... it's the only way...!!

  • (Sheepish, speaking to Russia) Austria wants my head... actually, not only the head, but my whole body... cut into small pieces...

  • (Begins neutral, but slowly breaks down with fear) And now I feel that I've sealed my destiny. I'm not relly proud of what I did... but now it's done! And now... now I... I DON'T WANT TO DIE!... I'm not an assassin. I'm not! But they get on my nerves, all those empires wanting my body... I'm so sick and sired of that... I... I need your help, Russia...!

  • (While Serbia runs off after shooting Austria) Serbia... oh, brother... what you have done today... is gonna bring us nasty consequences...

  • (Sitting ready to sign the annexation treaty. He doesn't seem worried at all) Well... Austria is a good person... but I feel so sorry for big bro Turkey! I'm gonna miss him!

Austria is a power-hungry and growing empire. He wishes to annex Bosnia, and he will get what he wants no matter what. He is an aristocrat and a very serious man. His pride comes first and foremost. //He speaks with an Austrian accent, but please, don't add that extra annoying emphasis he places on every word.//

  • (Frustrated) SERBIA, I'm sick of this quarrel! So, I ask you for the last time! Renounce to Bosnia by hook... (Suddenly grabs Serbia by the throat) OR CROOK!!!!

  • (Holding Serbia possessively under the chin) Look at me, you ungrateful child! I can still forget this misunderstanding and be merciful! But you must accept the annexation and be a good neighbor from now on... because you don't want me as your enemy, Serbia! You don't!

Russia is caught between many problems at once, forced to choose between abandoning his brother or openly declaring War. He is childishly sweet, but has an internal struggle with his own sanity.

  • (With Serbia clinging to him for comfort; to his boss) Sure...! I... I wouldn't be a good Christian if I didn't, sir...!

  • (Shocked by Austria's outrageous demands of Serbia) WHAT! He wants his own police to investigate the crime in YOUR territory?! Definitively, you're right: he wants a war!

  • (Pointing a gun at his family during the 1905 revolution, mentally breaking down just below the surface. He should sound just slightly hysteric at the end.) Trust me, I know how you feel... because I feel exactly the same! You're right! Everything must change! And... I don't really want to make this... but... what else can I do? If you could at least understand how I feel... YOU'RE TRYING TO SAVE YOURSELVES... I'm trying to save both my heart and soul. If I only knew how... if only I could change... (suddenly points the gun to his own head) But... I'm scared of the things I need... and I hate the things I keep.. so, everything shall stay exactly the same!!!

Nikolai II is Russia's leader at the time of WWI. He seems to genuinely care about what Russia thinks is right, but he encourages him against rash actions.

Lithuania is a Baltic country under Russia's rule. He is always pushed around by others, but he's not a pushover. He doesn't resist Russia's regime, not because he fears him, but because he knows what's important. He's levelheaded, and often overlooked.





  • (Overhearing Russia and Serbia) This sounds bad! Russia will surely support Serbia in a war against Austria!

  • (Thinking to himself) And I'm not sure if that would be a good decision. Lately, Russia's good behavior is quite unconscious. Though he tries to behave normally, Russia has not been the same since that day... you know what I'm talking about.

  • (Almost pitying) Russia is one of the strongest people I know... but even he would need some time... to get over something like that.
