actor, his credits include US National Tours and numerous professional regional
productions. He studied acting at the
Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre in NYC, and he has a BA in music from California
State University, Sacramento.
As a writer/creator Matt is the co-founder of Raconteur Studios and has written, directed, and starred in two feature-length audio dramas; both of which premiered in NYC. When not acting or writing, Matt works on film sets as a location sound mixer in NYC.

Matt's work was what I like to call 'Double Q.' It was quick, and it was quality.
Not only did he get the lines I needed the day I added him, but the audio and performance was perfect. No need for retakes, no need for anything further.

Matt had done an incredible job at portraying my character the way I envisioned him. Each line read felt like it was being carefully focused on and with perfect execution. Lines were also given back to me extremely quick and with no issues. Definitely recommend his skill for any voiceover project!

Matt was cast for the role of Henri. For the trailer, 'Henri's Idiots Guide To Cooking'.
Matt worked fast and efficiently. And improvements from the first take were acted on swiftly.
We managed to get the dialogue down to the desired 14 seconds. And he provided a really good performance.Thanks Matt, keep up the good work! :)

While the project was cancelled later on because of stress and personal matters, the work that needed to be done was greatly appriciated and done as soon as he could get it done. It was done in a very timely and orderly manner.
I appriciated that he checked in on me when the project was cancelled, and his work was of high quality.

Matt is excellent at following directions and having a natural indication of the role he's assuming, making it so no retakes were even needed. Most of all, he is extremely efficient! He was given an eleven day deadline and returned to me with all of his lines in a few hours.
Very polite, amazing at what he does, and efficient. Definitely recommend and am looking forward to possibly working with him again!

Matt is an awesome person to work with! He was always quick to respond to any emails or messages I sent him and provided his work within the same day as I sent him the script. His voice is excellent and is recorded with outstanding equipment!

Matt Surges did amazing voice acting for my student horror film! He has the perfect deep, solemn voice needed for my cryptic radio show announcer. He understood the assignment perfectly, very professional, and got the character, and it all showed in his voice. He delivered his lines in a timely manner and is one of the best parts of the production! I would totally work with this voice actor again and recommend others highly to do the same!
