About Lewis Edmunds Composer

Hi, I’m Lewis Edmunds, a classically trained composer and pianist with a love of cinematic and orchestral music, memorable themes, and music that brings stories and characters to life.

My work spans music for stage, screen, concert hall and music libraries. I’m fascinated by the ways music can shape a story, whether through the excitement of a sweeping orchestral adventure, the intimacy of a quiet emotional moment, or a theme that stays with you long after the story ends.

I’m particularly inspired by composers such as John Williams, whose music first showed me how powerfully a score can create a world and bring a story to life. I also love the intimate, atmospheric approach of composers like Thomas Newman. I enjoy exploring different musical colours and styles, always looking for what best serves the story, the characters and the world they inhabit.

I love collaborating with other creative people and approaching each project with curiosity, openness and enthusiasm. For me, some of the most rewarding moments come from finding that musical idea that makes a scene click, reveals something about a character, or gives a story a life of its own.

Alongside composing, I’m a working pianist and also work in stage management and theatre automation. My touring theatre work has included Sister Act on its 2024 UK and Ireland tour and Miss Saigon on its 2025–2026 UK and Ireland tour. Being involved in different sides of the performing arts keeps me close to the practical magic of live performance and gives me a real appreciation for the many people and moving parts that bring a production to life.

Ultimately, I love creating music that makes people feel something. I’m always excited to meet new collaborators, explore new ideas and discover the next story I can help bring to life.
