About jeffreyb1985

To begin properly, my family will argue that I have been an actor all my life.  However, I have only been a dedicated actor of the stage for the last 14.5 years within the Reno/Sparks, NV area.  Bitten by the theatre bug at a young age, I started my acting career at the age of 16 at Reed High School. There I began participating in popular productions such as the “Music Man” & “Les Miserables” where I was given my first lead role, Monsieur Thenardier, at the age of 17. After high school, I continued to participate in dozens of musicals, plays and other theatrical productions for Truckee Meadows Community College. I continued performing until 2009, where I left Reno to study theatre in Decatur, IL, at Millikin University.

After being there for over a year, I left Millikin, and decided to return home to be with my family.  I went on to work in several indie films while at the same time still feeding my theatre addiction.  The most recent live shows I've done include the role of Max Bialystock (after they put me in a fat suit) from "The Producers", and Malcolm from "The Full Monty".  I also filmed a pilot for the  up coming TV series "Idaho Boys", so keep your eyes and ears out for that.  In the last few years, I have really wanted to branch out into voice acting.

Now as I said before, my family will argue to the death that I have been acting all of my life; especially, when it comes to the voices of recognizable characters. The first voices I ever remember copying or mimicking would have to be Disney's "Jungle Book". I would go from the raspy, fun, big bear Baloo to the stern, hard headed, more sophisticated Bagheera. Then I would switch from the smooth, dangerous, confident Shere Khan to the buzzards that were based off the Beatles even before I knew who the Beatles were. King Louie and Kaa kind of sounded the same to me. When I recognized they had different personalities, it was easy for my 7 year old brain to adapt.

I have used my talents for many years. Whether it's to entertain a group of people for 20 mins with a story from Eddie Izzard, or if you want me to sing with a southern accent on stage for musical theatre, it makes me happy to entertain and make other people happy. From reciting movies while the volume is turned down to narrating books, and finding out voices I never knew I had, I enjoy it all. I have gained more voices over the years as well as held on to the ones I've done since the beginning.  I am looking forward to this being my main career.  As I have said to my friends, "All it takes is that one "yes" to turn an amatuer into a professional."
