Jack Callaghan
Hi.
My name is Jack, I'm 33 and am from Chester in the UK.
After gaining a BA Hon degree in Literature and Sociology from the University of Chester in 2013, I went on to train towards teaching in the lifelong learning sector but have recently decided to abandon a teaching career (I wasn't very good at it) and have subsequently found myself with much more time to focus on writing.
My work has appeared in 'The HorrorZine', both on their website and as part of their second print anthology 'Twice the terror' alongside notorious British horror and sex manual writer Graham Masterton (Shameless name-drop is shameless)
I was a regular contributor to the Manchester based independent magazine 'Bunbury', having serialised a novella with them and having a story included in their first print anthology.
My story 'Cannibals of the hereafter' appeared in the 13th issue of 'Massacre' magazine.
I have also recently had stories published by 'Gypsum Sound Tales', ‘The First Line’ and ‘Wicked Taxidermy’
I am particularly proud of these last few, as they mark when I first began to be paid for my work.
Though I have had work published in a number of genres ranging from horror and SF to urban realism and crime, my stuff has a tendency to veer towards the comedic, and this is the style in-which I’m most comfortable.
I live in a not too terrible flat with my boyfriend and pet praying mantis.
I have a sensible haircut.
