Hayley Simpson is a former fashion icon who has travelled the world writing and performing. Along with founding Funny Laugh Productions, a micro-budget film/writing production company, she has strived to write works that highlight unique perspectives and stories. 

 

A graduate of Humber College with a degree in Comedy Writing and Performance, she has worked with such names as Andrea Martin (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Robyn Duke (Saturday Night Live), and Allan Guttman (Second City). She performed stand-up comedy, improv comedy, and sketch comedy regularly around the Toronto circuit, this is where she found her love for teaching improv to at-risk youth.  

 

She has been recognized for her writing by such festivals as Broad Humor Festival, Wasatch Short Shorts Festival, Global Film Festival, and more.  

 

Awarded for dark goofy humour writing style she is described as "A breeze of refreshing fog air." 

 

Currently, her TV pilot 1099, a dark comedy about a mid-western unemployed woman getting tangled up the world of assassins, is in pre-production. She also is working as a voice actor in various projects, podcasts, and Dungeons and Dragons steams.
