Throughout my career, I have played a variety of characters in a variety of venues. I love collaborating with artists to create experiences that are memorable and delightful. People who have just met me tend to think of me as a quiet, reserved librarian type, until they get to know me. My good friends describe me as a golden retriever because I am high energy, and I am excited about absolutely everything.
This class focuses on the basics of good speech and voice production. Students learn to free their voices into vibrant, flexible instruments. They learn the phonetic alphabet in order to aid them in their mastery of American Standard speech, and the elimination of any regional or foreign accents. This class utilizes improvisational exercises and written texts to guide the actor to a full realization of self and the building of a truthful acting instrument. The class instills basic principles of good acting, stresses the actor’s connection to their spontaneous impulses and fosters a sensitized connection to their fellow actors.
