[VELVET flips waffles in the kitchen. CORA sharpens a knife at the table. AXEL yells from upstairs. AMITY throws butter knives at the wall while giggling. NEONI drinks coffee in silence. VIVIANNAbrushes her hair near the window.]

VELVET
(sweetly)
Breakfast is almost ready. If Cora doesn't kill anyone before the syrup hits the plate.

CORA
(not looking up)
I make no promises.

AXEL
(shouting)
WHO STOLE MY JACKET?! IT SMELLED LIKE A WINNER!

AMITY
(snickering)
Winner of what? Most annoying wolf?

NEONI
(sipping coffee)
He wins that every year.

[VIVIANNA pauses, frowning out the window. A flicker of movement in the fog.]

VIVIANNA
…Did anyone else see that?

VELVET
(turns, worried)
See what?

VIVIANNA
Something in the trees. It looked… wrong.

CORA
(rolls eyes)
We live in a nightmare house, next to a haunted forest. You’ll get used to it.

AXEL
(casually opens the front door)
HEY! If you're some creepy ghost-thing, can you take a number?

[A faint WHISPER comes from the fog.]

WHISPER (V.O.)
One of you doesn’t belong…

[Everyone freezes. AXEL slams the door shut.]

AMITY
(grinning)
Ooooh, dramatic. I like this one.

INT. HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – MOMENTS LATER

[The windows rattle slightly. Something invisible scratches faintly at the glass.]

VELVET
(looking around)
Why do I feel like we’re being watched?

[VIVIANNA goes to close a window. As she reaches it, a jagged cut appears on her arm.]

VIVIANNA
(gritting teeth)
I didn’t see anything… but something’s there.

VELVET
(rushing over)
You’re bleeding—sit, I’ll fix it.

AXEL
(smirking)
Or it’s just a really angry mosquito.

CORA
(throws a knife, it lands in the wall inches from Axel’s head)
Say mosquito again. I dare you.

AXEL
(flinching)
...Large, flying nightmare bug. Got it.

EXT. BACKYARD – LATE AFTERNOON

[The group stands near the back door. The backyard gate is wide open.]

CORA
(angry)
I closed that. Locked it.

JUNE
(checks her tablet)
Cameras glitched out ten minutes ago. Static everywhere.

NEONI
(frowning)
We should check it. In pairs.

VELVET
(nods)
Standard horror rules. Nobody goes alone.

MONTAGE:

• Cora & Velvet move through the trees.

• Amity flirts with Neoni while kicking leaves.

• Axel groans while stuck between the two humans.

EXT. EDGE OF THE WOODS – DUSK

[VELVET and CORA pause. They see someone ahead.]

VELVET
(confused)
Cora… is that… you?

CORA
(slowly)
No. I’m standing right here.

[In the shadows, a figure turns around — she looks exactly like Cora, but with darker eyes, smaller horns, and tighter clothes. She smirks.]

VELVET
(whispers)
That’s not you.

CORA
(quietly)
That’s Nora.

[Nora slowly vanishes into the shadows.]

INT. VELVET’S ROOM – NIGHT

[VELVET is asleep. A faint whisper echoes.]

WHISPER (V.O.)
Velvet…

[VELVET stirs. She opens her eyes to see CORA standing at the foot of her bed. But a second later, the real CORA walks in.]

CORA
(flatly)
Why are you screaming?

VELVET
(points, panicked)
You’re right there—b-but she was—you—

[Camera pans to the empty space where the fake Cora stood.]

CUT TO BLACK.

CREDITS ROLL:
[Eerie montage of all 7 characters standing at different points of the property, watching the fog roll in. Nora’s echoing laugh fades in and out.]
